Four Stonehill College students have been donating their time and talent to OLOS

to help us find ways to effectively respond to Pope Francis’ call to care for the Earth

and the poor. Find out what OLOS can do to increase the effectiveness of our

church’s energy use and contribute your ideas as well.

OLOS Catholic Appeal Progress

The 2016 Catholic Appeal campaign is well underway at OLOS. So far 66 parishioners have participated, and together, we have raised $13,160 toward our parish goal of $35,278. Thank you to all who already have participated. Your generosity will benefit hundreds of pastoral, charitable, and educational programs at work with the Archdiocese of Boston, and at Our Lady of Sorrows. With $22,118 left to raise, we need the participation of every parishioner. If you have yet to participate in this year’s Catholic Appeal, please pledge online at bostoncatholicappeal.org or complete a pledge form available in the back of the church and return it to the rectory.

From Senior Deacon Mike:

The fourth Sunday in Easter is commonly referred to as ‘Good Shepherd Sunday’.

Taken from the tenth chapter of John’s Gospel, the author describes the account of Jesus stating that he is ‘The Good Shepherd’

This is a distinct parallel and reference to chapter 34 of the Book of the prophet Ezekiel in which the role of a shepherd is detailed.

Where are the good shepherds in our ministry today?
