Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, Three years ago the Lord brought your family and me together for a very important mission, to renew and grow our parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Together we have accomplished much; we have grown the number of students in our school 150% in only three years, we renovated our parish center building a beau ful fountain, updated flooring, pain ng and many other badly needed maintenance issues. All of these improvements have been possible thanks to the contribu ons of parishioners and ministries, without any increase in the regular collec on. Even more important than our physical accomplishments, are the spiritual ones. Our recent celebra on of Holy Week was evidence that our community is also coming together as such and we are all growing together in faithfulness to the Lord. All missions assigned by the Lord, encounter mul ple challenges, big and small. A few weeks ago, your family, all parishioners and myself, came face to face with a new challenge. Our air condi oning for the church broke as a result of its old age, many years of con nued use and lack of upgrading throughout many years. In addi on, we have discovered that our electric wiring and systems are also obsolete, which create strong and frequent fluctua ons of voltage, which places at risk all of our electric equipment, including our soon to be replaced chiller. These are no new problems; in fact, previous administra ons had been struggling to keep up with the needs of our obsolete equipment managing only to do quick fixes but not the overall upgrading necessary. Now, the chiller has broken beyond repair and we must replace most of the equipment as soon as possible, as we have been ren ng a chiller for the past weeks at a cost of $1500.00 per week Since my arrival to Mt. Carmel, we secured a DONATION by the Arch Diocese of two chilling towers with an approximate value of $115.000.00, as well as the forgiveness of the debt le by the construc on of our church. For this reason, it is our community of parishioners, with a generous pledge campaign, who must face this new challenge. My finance council and department of plant management and development have reviewed very carefully our op ons. A er much research they have concluded that our best course of ac on will present us a bill of $185,000.00, which we need to collect in the next 90 days. If we do not accomplish that goal, the total amount will grow week by week. This is why I am wri ng you to share the challenge that we have encountered. I am confident that you and your family, together with all the families in our parish and myself, will join forces and will meet this challenge head on. Our community has what it takes to overcome this obstacle; many members who have loved the parish for many years, and a number of parishioner who, in a short me, have

already fallen in love with it. There is also a spirit of unity very strong in our community. I want to ask your family to make a pledge of at least $350.00 to replace the damaged equipment, in addi on to your weekly contribu on. I am aware that this is a dona on that you had not planned for in your budget, however, for our community to live and celebrate the sacraments in a dignified manner, in a church with the appropriate temperature, is simply too urgent to be postponed. The Lord will reward, as he always does, every sacrifice you make for the good of the gospel. There are different ways to make and fulfill your pledge: 1. One dona on in cash, check or charge to your credit/debit card. 2. Make a pledge for the total amount and make par al dona ons towards your pledge. 3. Invite your Friends and loved one to make dona on towards your pledge. I thank you, from the bo om of my heart, for your readiness to unite as the COMMUNITY OF OUR LADY OF MT. CARMEL that we are. Thank you for you generous heart and for your enthusiasm to push forward and accomplish this and any other challenges that get thrown our way. Please remember that a shepherd without a flock, is nothing. Myself, without you, I am nothing. My blessings and prayers.

Es mado Hermano en Cristo, Hace tres años que El Señor nos unió a tu familia y a mí en una misión muy importante, la de renovar y

hacer crecerla la Parroquia “Nuestra Señora del Monte Carmelo”. Juntos hemos logrado mucho;

crecimos el número de estudiantes en nuestra escuela, renovamos el centro Parroquial de piso a techo

y construimos nuestra bella fuente. Todos estos logros han sido gracias a las aportaciones económicas

y ayuda de los diferentes ministerios de nuestra Parroquia sin incremento en las colectas.

Más importante aún que los logros sicos son los logros espirituales. En la reciente semana santa

quedo en evidencia que nos hemos fortalecido en espíritu, en servicio y en compromiso con Cristo,

nuestro salvador y guía.

Todo aquel que vive su fe en el mundo de hoy se encuentra con retos, algunos pequeños y otros

mayores. Hace unas semanas tu familia, los demás miembros de OLMC y un servidor, nos topamos

con un nuevo desa o. Nuestro aire acondicionado dejó de funcionar a causa de su an güedad, el uso

con nuo y la falta de actualización. Desgraciadamente, en esta ocasión el equipo quedo inservible y

no es posible repararlo. Esto no es un problema nuevo, ya que administraciones pasadas habían

logrado mantenerlo funcionando con pequeñas reparaciones pero a causa de la falta de fondos, no

pudieron hacer el reemplazo necesario.

Nuestro reto es reemplazar el equipo a la brevedad posible ya que desde hace algunas semanas

estamos rentando un equipo con un costo de $1,500.00 por semana. Nuestra arquidiócesis, por

decisión del Cardenal DiNardo, DONO a la parroquia dos torres de enfriamiento con un valor superior

a los $115,000.00. Además de perdonar la deuda parroquial incurrida durante la contracción del

templo. Por esta razón, el reto con que nos encontramos, debemos ser nosotros, los parroquianos de

OLMC, quienes lo enfrentemos con responsabilidad, determinación e incluso con alegría.

Mi consejo de Finanzas y el departamento de desarrollo y mantenimiento, después de revisar

cuidadosamente nuestras opciones y conseguir co zaciones y propuestas de varias empresas

especializadas, nos presenta el reto de juntar $185,000.00 en los siguientes 90 días. De no

conseguirlos, el costo de este proyecto con nuará creciendo semana a semana.

Es por esto que te escribo para pedirte que tu familia se tome de la mano conmigo y de los demás

parroquianos de OLMC para superar este desa o. Quiero pedirte que tu familia se comprometa a

hacer una ofrenda por lo menos de $350.00 para reemplazar el equipo dañado, aparte de tu

contribución semanal.

Existen varias opciones para que hagas esta ofrenda:

1. Un solo dona vo en efec vo, cheque o incluso con tarjeta de crédito/debito.

2. Hacer una promesa por esa can dad y donar una porción de esa promesa de manera semanal.

3. Invitar a tus familiares y amigos a hacer dona vos a cuenta de tu promesa.

Sé que es un gasto imprevisto, pero la misión de vivir los sacramentos de manera digna, en una Iglesia

con la temperatura adecuada, es algo urgente e importante este verano. Dios recompensará, como

siempre lo hace, todo sacrificio que hagan para contribuir.

Te agradezco desde el fondo de mi corazón que nos unamos como LA COMUNIDAD DE NUESTRA

SEÑORA DE MONTE CARMELO que somos. Ponte la camiseta y con empuje y generosidad que nos

caracteriza.

Recuerda que a final de cuentas un Pastor sin rebaño, no es nada.

OLMC School News Enrollment for 2014-15 is finalizing! OLMC School is now accepting final registrations for the 2014-15 school year, which begins on August 13th. Families in need of financial assistance with tuition must register right away and complete the PSAS application. After the month of June, the scholarships and tuition assistance will be unavailable for newly enrolling families. It is important to register now! Families with 3 or 4 year old children who are interested in our Pre-Kindergarten program are encouraged to enroll in June rather than waiting until August, as our classes are filling quickly. Our Pre-K program is an academic program in which students begin to learn the fundamentals of school behavior, academics, and faith. Students begin learning their letters, numbers, colors, prayers, etc, in Pre-K3 and in Pre-K4, they begin pre-reading fundamentals with the Happily Ever After reading readiness program from Rowland Reading Foundation. If your child will be age 3 and toilet-trained by September 1, 2014 they qualify to enroll in Pre-K3. If they will be age 4 by September 1, 2014, they will qualify to enroll in Pre-K4. Noticias de la Escuela OLMC Estamos culminando las matrículas para el año 2014-15 ! La Escuela OLMC sigue en la etapa final de las matrículas para el año escolar 2014-15, que comenzará el 13 de Agosto. Las familias que necesitan asistencia financiera con la matrícula deben registrarse de inmediato y completar la solicitud PSAS. Después del mes de Junio ya no tendremos disponibles las becas ni la asistencia para las nuevas familias que se inscriban. Es importante registrarse ya! Invitamos a las familias con niños de 3 ó 4 años de edad, que estén interesados en nuestro programa de Pre-Jardín para que hagan su inscripción en Junio, en lugar de esperar hasta Agosto, ya que nuestras clases se están llenando muy rápidamente. Nuestro programa de Pre -K es un programa académico en el que los estudiantes comienzan a aprender los fundamentos de conducta escolar, y académica, además de los temas de la fe. Los estudiantes comienzan a aprender las letras, números, colores, oraciones, etc. En Pre -K3 y Pre- K4, comienzan los fundamentos de prelectura con un maravilloso programa de lectura de la fundación Rowland. Si su hijo de aquí al 1ro. de Septiembre 2014 ya ha cumplido sus 3 años de edad y va solo al baño entonces reúne los requisitos para inscribirse en Pre -K3. Si va a cumplir sus 4 años de aquí al 1ro. de Septiembre de 2014, entonces reúne los requisitos para inscribirse en Pre -K4.
