Our Mission Our Lady of Mount

Carmel Catholic Parish is one family

in Christ.

We: • Love God and neighbor. • Pray in the celebration of the

Sacraments and receive grace. • Serve sacrificially with time,

talent and treasure. • Proclaim the good news of

Salvation.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, and with Mama Mary to help us, we journey in hope to Heaven.

LIFE IN THE SPIRIT “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received a spirit of adoption, through which we cry, ‘Abba, Father!’ The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God....” (Romans 8:14-16) The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Blessed Trinity, lives within the disciples of Jesus Christ. He wants to fill us with the love of God, transform us into the likeness of Christ, and lead us on the adventure of faith.

If God seems far away or absent from your life, it may be because you have not fully opened yourself to His Spirit. How do you do that? By attending the Life in the Spirit Mini-Retreat, you will not only learn the answer to this question, you will also experience the answer. Through song and prayer, teachings and talks, the person and power of the Holy Spirit are revealed. We offered this retreat in May and below are some of the comments.

If you did not attend the May retreat, we are offering another one in November. Next weekend, we will have sign-ups after Mass, or you can sign up TODAY by going to the parish website. “The best part of the retreat was being prayed over because I felt the Holy Spirit come into my life and heard Jesus talk to me clearly.”

“I loved the teaching and witness talks. They were very instructional and moving.”

“The Baptism of the Holy Spirit reawakened my love for God.”

“The Life in the Spirit was very informational and uplifting. It really enriched by faith. I’m not really a practicing Catholic but the Life in the Spirit will be a good start for me to grow in my faith.”

Lost and Found The Parish Lost and Found is located in the church office. Items are held for a short time before donating to a local charity. Stop by the office during office hours to claim your items.

CRAFTER’S MEETING The craft ministry will hold its next meeting for the fall season on Monday, Sept 19th at 7pm in the small conference room in the parish hall. Everyone is welcome to attend and hear about the upcoming crafts for the homebound parishioners and charitable organizations in the community. The ministry typically meets the first 3 Mondays of the month unless there is a holiday. The remaining dates this month will be Sept 19th and 26th. We hope to see you there!

Have you ever thought of donating a gift of love to the church? It’s a wonderful way to support the future of the church and a way to remember the beauty of a life time commitment to God.

When developing or changing your will, maybe ask yourself if a bequest to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel would make your dream come true; something from your heart made tangible.

A bequest made in your will can be a charitable gift of personal property, such as money, stock, bonds, jewelry, or property. Bequests are easily inserted into any personal will. Please ask your will preparer how to add a charitable gift to your will.

PUBLIC SQUARE ROSARY CRUSADE

America is at a historic crossroad. Secularists are trying to push God from the public square. Without God, where will our leaders get wisdom to solve the great problems we face?

He will hear us, if we pray through the intercession of His Blessed Mother.

This is coordinated nationally by Tradition, Family and Property and its America Needs Fatima campaign.

With the all-important election in November, we’re launching the 2016 Public Square Rosary Crusade.
