**** FROM THE PASTOR ****
****4TH Sunday of Lent****
LAETARE OR REJOICE SUNDAY
My dear brothers and sisters this weekend is known as Rejoice of Laetare Sunday. It comes from the Latin
translation of the first word of today’s entrance Antiphon: “Rejoice, Jerusalem, and all who love her”. This
line is from the Prophet Isaiah 66:10. It sets a tone of joyful anticipation of the Easer mystery that we are
preparing to celebrate. The Rose-Colored Vestment that we wear today anticipates the joy of new life in the
resurrection of Our Lord on Easter Sunday.
Pledge Sunday -- 2020 Annual Appeal
My brothers and Sisters, on February 3rd we watched the Video on “Shining the Light of Christ 2020 Annual
Appeal”. At that time, you were asked to use the month of February to pray over your decision of how much
you would pledge to the Appeal. We had scheduled the weekend of March 14/15 for our Pledge Sunday.
Cardinal Tobin suspended all Masses that weekend.
This weekend we were to have our Parish Confirmation with Bishop Cruz it would not have been appropriate
to have Pledge Sunday at that time. However, due to the Corona Virus restrictions Confirmation has been
postponed. So, we are hoping that next Sunday March 28th and 29th will be Pledge Sunday. This will be the
day to make your pledge. The envelopes will be on the seats in the Marian Center. Please make your pledge
next Sunday.
DEANERY PENANCE SERVICE
Our Deanery Penance Service is scheduled for Monday, March 30th, at 7:30 pm at St. John the Baptist
Church in Hillsdale. As of right now it is still scheduled however, there is a strong possibility that it may be
cancelled because of the Coronavirus. When a decision is made, we will let you know.
HOLY WEEK MASS OF THE LORD’S SUPPER
We are looking for volunteers to have their feet washed at the Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper. This
mass will be on Holy Thursday, April 9th, at 7:30 pm. If you are interested call the rectory and give your
name to Fr. Ray.
May God bless you,
Fr. Stephen Cinque

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTIONS
“Not as man sees does God, see, because man sees he
appearance but the Lord looks into the heart.” 1Samuel 16:7
How often do we invest our time, talent and treasure in creating
an appearance that does not matter at all to God? We strive to
impress with our clothing, home, career, possessions, car and
other marks of distinction. But none of these illusions of
greatness will impress God. Instead, He will look into our
hearts to see how much we love Him, how much we loved
others and how we showed that love by the way we used our
time, talent and treasure here on earth.
SANCTUARY LAMP
The Sanctuary Lamp will burn during the week of March 22nd,
