Those who have been born again stand to receive an inheritance

as God’s children!

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he

has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ

from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you” (1 Peter 1:3-4, ESV)

Many people are not eligible to receive an inheritance from God.

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?”

(1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

“For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.” (Ephesians 5:5)

In Order to Receive the Inheritance…

• We must be children of God! “…if children, then heirs — heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ…” (Romans 8:17a)

• We must be justified by grace! “…that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” (Titus 3:7)

• We must overcome the world! “He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.”(Revelation 21:7)

If we are true heirs, one day we will hear the King of Kings say to us…

“Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you

from the foundation of the world.” (Matthew 25:34)

Today at Eastside, let us engage ourselves

wholeheartedly in “giving thanks to the Father who has qualified

us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the

light.” (Colossians 1:12)
