Our God is a God who saves!

Psalm 68: 20a NLT

Leader: Lord God, the story of Your

love makes us realize that

there are many who need

Your help and Your grace;

so we bring our prayers to You:

Response: For those who suffer pain,

and for those whose

loneliness is soul-destroying;

Leader: For those whose minds are

disturbed, and for those who

live lives of quiet despair;

Response: For those who have not

had the opportunities to

reach their potential;

Leader: For those who are satisfied with

something less than the life for

which they were made;

Response: For those who know their

guilt, their shallowness,

their need, but who do not

know of Jesus;

Leader: For those who know that they

must shortly die; for those who

cannot wait to die.

Response: Lord God, Your Son has

taken all our sufferings upon

Himself and has

transformed them.

Leader: Help us to take the sufferings of

others upon ourselves, and so by

Your grace, become agents of

Your transforming love:

All: Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Our God is a God who saves!

Psalm 68: 20a NLT

I SURRENDER ALL CHANGE MY HEART, O GOD

All to Jesus I surrender,

All to Him I freely give.

I will ever love and trust Him,

In His presence daily live.

I SURRENDER ALL CHANGE MY HEART, O GOD

I surrender all,

I surrender all.

All to Thee my blessed Saviour,

I surrender all.

I SURRENDER ALL CHANGE MY HEART, O GOD

All to Jesus I surrender,

Lord, I give myself to Thee.

Fill me with Thy love and power,

Let Thy blessing fall on me.

I SURRENDER ALL CHANGE MY HEART, O GOD

I surrender all,

I surrender all.

All to Thee my blessed Saviour,

I surrender all.

I SURRENDER ALL CHANGE MY HEART, O GOD

I surrender all,

I surrender all.

All to Thee my blessed Saviour,

I surrender all.

I SURRENDER ALL CHANGE MY HEART, O GOD

I surrender all,

I surrender all.

All to Thee my blessed Saviour,

I surrender all.

I SURRENDER ALL CHANGE MY HEART, O GOD

You are the Potter,

I am the clay,

Mold me and make me,

This is what I pray.

I SURRENDER ALL CHANGE MY HEART, O GOD

Change my heart, O God,

Make it ever true,

Change my heart, O God,

May I be like You.

I SURRENDER ALL CHANGE MY HEART, O GOD

I surrender all.

May I be like You.

I surrender all.

May I be Like You.

Our God is a God who saves!

Psalm 68: 20a NLT

I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;

I will tell of the wonderful things you have done.

I will sing with joy because of you. I will sing praise to you, my God.

Our God is a God who saves!

Psalm 68: 20a NLT

Ezekiel 33: 7 – 20 NLT

7 “Now, son of man, I am making you a watchman for the people of Israel. Therefore, listen to what I say and warn them for me. 8 If I announce that some wicked people are sure to die and you fail to tell them to change their ways, then they will die in their sins, and I will hold you responsible for their deaths. 9 But if you warn them to repent and they don’t repent, they will die in their sins, but you will have saved yourself.

Ezekiel 33: 7 – 20 NLT

The Watchman’s Message 10 “Son of man, give the people of Israel this message: You are saying, ‘Our sins are heavy upon us; we are wasting away! How can we survive?’ 11 As surely as I live, says the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die?

Ezekiel 33: 7 – 20 NLT

12 “Son of man, give your people this message: The righteous behavior of righteous people will not save them if they turn to sin, nor will the wicked behavior of wicked people destroy them if they repent and turn from their sins. 13 When I tell righteous people that they will live, but then they sin, expecting their past righteousness to save them, then none of their righteous acts will be remembered. I will destroy them for their sins.

Ezekiel 33: 7 – 20 NLT

14 And suppose I tell some wicked people that they will surely die, but then they turn from their sins and do what is just and right. 15 For instance, they might give back a debtor’s security, return what they have stolen, and obey my life-giving laws, no longer doing what is evil. If they do this, then they will surely live and not die. 16 None of their past sins will be brought up again, for they have done what is just and right, and they will surely live.

Ezekiel 33: 7 – 20 NLT

17 “Your people are saying, ‘The Lord isn’t doing what’s right,’ but it is they who are not doing what’s right. 18 For again I say, when righteous people turn away from their righteous behavior and turn to evil, they will die. 19 But if wicked people turn from their wickedness and do what is just and right, they will live. 20 O people of Israel, you are saying, ‘The Lord isn’t doing what’s right.’ But I judge each of you according to your deeds.”

Our God is a God who saves!

Psalm 68: 20a NLT

The Heart of God

Created to be in relationship with God

Colossians 3: 3

For you have died and your life is hidden

with Christ in God

Live in harmony with God, seek what he

desires – a relationship with us.

Samuel Brengle

My one great temptation in ministry:

The temptation to want to do something for

God before I’ve first spent time with Him.

The primacy of relationship

Oswald Chambers

We slander God by our very eagerness to

work for Him, without knowing Him.

To Peter:

Do you love me? Do you love me? Do you

love me?

Oswald Chambers

The main thing about Christianity is not the

work we do, but the relationship we

maintain, and the atmosphere produced

by that relationship. That is all God asks

us to look after and it is the one thing that

is being continually assailed.

Richard Foster

Today the heart of God is an open wound of

love. He aches over our distance and

preoccupation. He mourns that we do not

draw near to Him. He grieves that we

have forgotten Him.

He weeps over our muchness and

manyness. He longs for our presence.

If you feel called to some sort of scheduled devotion, by all means try it! Run to it! Embrace it! But don't beat yourself up if you are called to a different way to connect to our God.

Sacred Pathways – connecting with God…but in some way every day. A breath prayer, prayer of thanks, grace, scheduled devotions….the options are endless.

I love you Lord

I love you Lord and I lift my voice

To worship you, O my soul rejoice

Take joy my King, in what you hear

Let it be a sweet, sweet sound in your ear.

The Heart of God

freedom

Our responsibility is to be passionate about letting people now about the great love and grace He has for us all.

In our journey of reconciliation with God, we have to ADMIT our uncleanliness to our perfect Heavenly Father and then accept His free gift of love and forgiveness.

1. The Church and its members are responsible for communicating God’s salvation plan for humankind. 2. People are broken and hurting and want healing. 3. God wants to give ALL His people –

freedom!
