Our Family Friend

I would like to tell you about our family friend, who is a very interesting,

positive and respectable man. His name is Ivanov Nikolai Mihailovich. He was born in 1958 in the village called New Muratovo, Urmarskij district of Chuvash Republic. There are three sons in his family and all of them go in for sports owning to our friend Nikolai.

Nikolai started exercising at school time and promoted a love of sports for his younger brothers. In 1965 his younger brother Valera became a Master of Sports in cycling, took part in the Championship of Povolzhye and Chuvash Republic.

His middle brother Ivan is a Master of Sports of International Class in cycling, champion of USSR, multiple participant and winner of international many day-long race competitions.

In 1980 in his student days our friend Nikolai became a Candidate Master of Sports of USSR in athletics, got the first grade in cross country skiing and in 1984 at the same time graduated from the Chuvash State University, engineering faculty.

They say that a man of talent is talented in everything. Up to now, Nikolai Mihailovich successfully works in his main professional field, has a lot of rewards, has been working for a long time in the Capital Construction Management of the Housing and Building Ministry in Chuvash Republic and at the same time hasn’t stopped engaging in sport activities.

In 2008 he got a title of a Master of Sports among veterans in

athletics. Nikolai is a constant participant, medalist, winner and his multiple rewards in his home archive prove that: diplomas, medals, cups.

He takes part in all competitions not only in Cheboksary and Chuvash republic but also in other Russian regions: Ioshkar Ola, Nizhny Novgorod, Ulyanovsk, Kazan and etc.

In 2008 Nikolai won in the Russian Championship among racing

fun clubs in Korolevo of Moscow region (20 km). In 2010 Nikolai came forth in the Race Championship (5 and10

km) among the veterans that took place in Hungary.

There are some of his achievements:

-In 2011 he was the first in the Russian Track-Event (3km) and took the second place in 5km race in his age

groups (50-54 years old). - In 2012 he took the third place in the Russian Race

Championship (10 km) among the veterans.

This is his latest photo with a memorable T-shirt of the third astronaut in the world Andrian Nikolaev and with a medal of the winner in the Chuvash Press Sport Festival that took place on the 14th of September 2013, in honor of 75 year-old newspaper «Soviet Chuvashia». He is an annual participant and winner of this public event in Chuvashia.

In one of the song about Russia they sing: «You were always proud of Ivans and Marias». At present time, I think, Russia should be proud of such sons as Ivanovs: modest, friendly, hard-working, with a sound mind in a sound body, propagandizing active lifestyle by setting a good example.

Nikolai is a wonderful family man, loving farther and husband. We are proud of such a friend whom we have known for more than 30 years, who inspires us with a healthy way of living, cheerfulness and love.
