In 2016‐2017, Leads continued to take on challenges in an environment where the labour market and funding sources are constantly changing. We did not miss a step to fulfill our mission. 

Operations were restructured last September: 6 Team Leaders were brought in to join our Trainer. We also hired over 20 new staff to support the needs of both our job‐seeker clients and our employer clients. In a 7 month period, with optimal energy, enthusiasm and speed, our 2017 budget increased by 25%, and the referrals have not stopped. Then there were our employment placements, which also increased by 25%, all of which putting Leads 107% over target. Even better, our clients’ overall job retention is still above 80%!

90% of the surveyed employers indicated that they were satisfied or very satisfied with Leads’ service; 94% of job seekers survey indicated they would refer or recommend Leads’ services to others and 96% of our community partners stated they would continue to refer/recommend Leads services. The satisfaction rate shot up 6% among job seekers and over 10% for our community partners over the prior year and it’s just continuing! Full throttle ahead!

The teams, you, have made this happened and we are now one of the recognized best practices in the Province for our work in Supported Employment. You work together and you share so much with each other that you are bringing the service silos down. You do so much in what you believe in and go above & beyond‐you support the Leads Food Bank and volunteer your time in Pawlooza. Our fundraiser has brought in approximately 10% more funds than last year

The Board of Directors are Leads’ ambassadors. They also celebrate our success. The Board is now working on increasing engagement with the community. The Board’s Community Linkage Task Force will be reaching out to the business sector to ask about their human resources needs related to hiring and retaining people with disabilities. They will have lots of conversation with the community and determine how we, as a team, Board and staff, can serve our community even better.
