Proposed Position Statement

+ 1Although I find that working independently suits me better I would like to work as part of a team within a established graphic design studio rather than working freelance once I have finished my degree.

+ 2I wouldn't say I have a particular style of work but I would like to see myself working within the culture sector mainly on creative and art's based projects rather than commercial ones.

+ 3I would like to work abroad at some point within my professional career, either in Italy, Spain or New York.. It does some quite unlikely at the moment but you never know. It would be interesting to see how design works in other parts of the world.

+ 4Something that I would like to be a huge part of my design practice within the future is to be able to collaborate with other designers. Working with designers who have similar ideas as well as those who are completely different.

+ 5Eventually having my own design studio is what I aspire to work towards.. At the moment I'd like to just gain as much as experience as I can but maybe in 10-15 years time Id like to be in the position where I can set up my own business.

+ 6At some point within my career I would like to be able to work closely within the print industry, even it is for a short amount of time understanding how print works a long side design is something that I have always been interested in and would like to continue to find out more about print. Having been to the talk by Generation Press it was amazing to see how Anand has become an integral part ofthe team.

+ 7Ethics and sustainability is a huge part of design and I think that I would like to be a designer who is driven by the need to design and work ethically whether this is part of an already existing studio or working independently.

+ 8I would love to gain experience by working for a magazine, whether it's a well established one or one that is growing. I've always loved magazines so it would be quite useful to see how they're managed and run, especially focusing on the shift between print and digital where many magazines are having to create an online presence along side print.

+ 9Since starting this course I've grown to love photography and realised that it plays an integral part within Graphic Design, I would like to continue these skills when it comes to my professional design practice.

+ 10If I'm honest I would say that I'm struggling to come up with a final point.. What I can say is that I wouldn't want to be working in a large company where I'm a nobody who has no integral part of the design process, works 9-5 and is probably regretting becoming a designer.. I hope this day never happens. +
