Certification LASBO’s Board of Directors established its Professional Certification Program in December 1992. This is a voluntary program of professional certification that leads to five types of designations: Certified Louisiana School Business Administrator (CLSBA) Certified Louisiana Charter School Business Administrator (CLCSBA) Certified Louisiana School Business Official (CLSBO) Certified Louisiana School Business Specialist (CLSBS) Certified Louisiana Charter School Business Professional (CLCSBP) The certification program is open to LASBO members employed full-time in the central business office of a school system in Louisiana. A certification application form can be down-loaded from LASBO’s website at www.lasbo.org. LASBO currently has 240 active certified school business officials employed in 72 school systems throughout Louisiana. Attendees of the Fall Workshop may earn credit toward certification education requirements. Attendees already certified may earn up to six hours toward recertification. the Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR). Topics will include an overview of the significant changes, policy and procedure requirements, and audit documentation requirements.

different from region to region, this session will present a microscopic view of a how a

public school district and a charter school learned that each system, on some level, is

dependent on the other’s success. Learn the basic terminology and understand the effects

of different types of charter schools on school districts, what districts need to consider when

faced with a new charter presence, and how each system can work toward a positive co-

existence.

(ESSA). The presentation will include the recently released supplement, not supplant proposal, and a detailed discussion of other fiscal requirements and their applicability under the new law.
