Ltd, founded in 1985 as a JVC with Pepperl + Fuchs GmbH.On account of good in house facilities both in New Delhi and Osnabruck like amodern design and production facility the first PTB ATEX certificate acquired ever by an Indian engineering company has been, OSNA for Signal Isolators, in the OS and OBS System in 2002. Our indian customers can count on our intense national coverage through functional regional offices support.
OSNA services and documentationWell trained and experienced OSNA application engineers have helped Petro Chemical Plants and Refineries to solve critical interface problems with OSNA as also with Ex- equipment of other`s make Each OSNA Interface is having a DOU (Directions of Use) to avoid very typical mistakes observed during commissioning of plants.
INTRODUCTION TO galvanic Isolation Whereas low cost Temperature Transmitters for example like RTD to current converters are available in the market, OSNA designs basically signalconverters with 3 point galvanic isolation between the 24 V DC power supply circuit, RTD signal and between the 4-20mA current flowing to the DCS(Decentralized Control System) / to the control room.
Even the 24 V DC supply powering the unit, isolated through the Inverter Technology to avoid any short circuit destory the sensor located in the field area. Of course the same isolation will stop a short circuit from travelling from a relative low cost sensor to the much moreexpensive DCS.
This three point isolation requires costly ferrites with hardly any iron losses to allow a perfect linearity between the field sensor value and the resultant signal flowing to the control room.
The trend towards achieving a lower stock level of isolator Units and therefor the end user shall wish to order out more universal units where the inputs and outputs can be field selected and their range also be changed. This has resulted in the OSNA microprocessor based signal convertors,where a more detailed planning in the measurement loops was possible, the result is: lower cost versions which are factory settable.
OSNA undertakes to design also customized Special Interfaces like Current multipliers in WE housing, where the cost is a restraint and not an ATEX certificate,or space.
Certification.An ATEX certificate has replaced the earlier Ex-Certificate and becomes mandatory to sell into Germany / the European Community. This ATEX certificate is issued in conjunction with an Audit by a European Notified body which certifies compliance ofthe records seen to comply with the ATEX Directive.
