Forward TMA created this guide for physician practices as a reference and resource aid. It provides valuable, practical answers to many of the most common questions and issues concerning compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and the practice of medicine. This handbook is a composite of many sources, and because laws and regulations change continuously, it is recommended that you develop an OSHA policy and procedure manual based on the OSHA standards and review the OSHA regulations annually for changes and updates.

TMA is a private, nonprofit professional membership organization for physicians in Texas and is not a government agency. TMA does not create laws or regulations and is not a licensing entity. The information in the booklet should not be viewed as legal advice.

This is a helpful reference guide, but if you encounter a legal issue that could negatively affect your license or your practice, you should consult an attorney.
