The Efficiency New Brunswick’s Residenal Energy Efficiency Program offers incenves to homeowners who purchase advanced solid-fuel burning appliances to make their homes more energy efficient. Appliances purchased must meet certain requirements. Those requirements can be summarized as follows: APPLIANCE TYPE REQUIREMENTS Freestanding wood stoves Emissions ≤ 4.5 g/h as per EPA or CSAB415.1 with efficiency ≥ 75% Wood fireplace inserts Emissions ≤ 4.5 g/h as per EPA or CSAB415.1 with efficiency ≥ 75% Zero-clearance wood fireplaces Emissions ≤ 4.5 g/h as per EPA or CSAB415.1 with efficiency ≥ 75% Freestanding pellet stoves Emissions ≤ 4.5 g/h as per EPA or CSAB415.1 with efficiency ≥ 75% Wood furnaces Emissions ≤ 4.5 g/h as per EPA or ≤ 0.40 g/MJ as per CSAB415.1 with efficiency ≥ 75% Pellet furnaces Emissions ≤ 4.5 g/h as per EPA or ≤ 0.40 g/MJ as per CSAB415.1 with efficiency ≥ 75% Rebates offered under the program for the renovaon of an exisng home * can be summarized as follows for each appliance type: APPLIANCE TYPE REBATE Freestanding wood stoves $500 Wood fireplace inserts $500 Zero-clearance wood fireplaces $500 Freestanding pellet stoves $500 Wood furnaces $500 Pellet furnaces $500 *Other rebates apply for new construcons. Qualifying models: Program deadline: Although the program is intended to be permanent, it is suggested that you register sooner than later in order to start saving money. Some condions must be met, such as the need to have a Pre-Upgrade Assessment performed by an accredited Efficiency NB Service Provider. This service is not free, but its cost is minimal in relaon to the long-term energy savings that you can expect.
