The Eciency New Brunswick’s Residenal Energy Eciency Program oers incenves to homeowners who purchase advanced solid-fuel burning appliances to make their homes more energy ecient. Appliances purchased must meet certain requirements. Those requirements can be summarized as follows: APPLIANCE TYPE REQUIREMENTS Freestanding wood stoves Emissions 4.5 g/h as per EPA or CSAB415.1 with eciency 75% Wood replace inserts Emissions 4.5 g/h as per EPA or CSAB415.1 with eciency 75% Zero-clearance wood replaces Emissions 4.5 g/h as per EPA or CSAB415.1 with eciency 75% Freestanding pellet stoves Emissions 4.5 g/h as per EPA or CSAB415.1 with eciency 75% Wood furnaces Emissions 4.5 g/h as per EPA or 0.40 g/MJ as per CSAB415.1 with eciency 75% Pellet furnaces Emissions 4.5 g/h as per EPA or 0.40 g/MJ as per CSAB415.1 with eciency 75% Rebates oered under the program for the renovaon of an exisng home * can be summarized as follows for each appliance type: APPLIANCE TYPE REBATE Freestanding wood stoves $500 Wood replace inserts $500 Zero-clearance wood replaces $500 Freestanding pellet stoves $500 Wood furnaces $500 Pellet furnaces $500 *Other rebates apply for new construcons. Qualifying models: Program deadline: Although the program is intended to be permanent, it is suggested that you register sooner than later in order to start saving money. Some condions must be met, such as the need to have a Pre-Upgrade Assessment performed by an accredited Eciency NB Service Provider. This service is not free, but its cost is minimal in relaon to the long-term energy savings that you can expect.
