The company SYNTHOS S.A. grew out of the companies: Dwory S.A

and Kaucuk a.s. The current name of the company - SYNTHOS derives

from a fusion of two words of Greek origin, synthesis (join) and orthos

(proper, right). SYNTHOS S.A. manages production plants in Poland,

Czech Republic, the Netherlands and France.

The name reflects the Company’s aim to manufacture and supply its client´s with chemical products for further processing, thus contributing to the development of the client’s business. The name also reflects the nature of the company’s operations in chemical synthesis.

The SYNEXIL® and OSAKRYL® brands cover a wide range of dispersions

based on vinyl acetate, acrylics, styrene-acrylics and vinyl acrylics. The dis-

persions meet the market needs for formulation of products in the construct-

Synthos pays close attention to the evironmental aspects of their prod-

ucts. No dispersions contain APEO emulsifiers (alkylphenol ethoxylates), sol-

vents, hazardous plasticisers or any other substances harmful to human

health and the environment including the REACH Candidate List of Sub-

stances of Very High Concern (SVHC).

All our products are subject to strict internal quality controls in accordance with the certified quality control system of ISO. Additional controls can be included at the client’s request.

PaintsSynthos dispersions binders for decorative and protective interiorand exterior paints help with the formulation of highperformance paints. Thanks to their properties, they may beused in the formulation of paints with, for example, betterhiding power, stain and scrub resistance, exterior durability andlow VOC. Chemical resistance in the furniture industry is of significant importance and implies protecting the surfaceagainst long-term exposure to aggressive substances. Important parameters include:- time of exposure - type of substance (most frequently tested are: coffee, 40% alcohol solution, liquid paraffin and water)- type of wood

Topcoat: clear and white pigmented paints based on Synexil® AF33 have reached very good results:- no traces after 1 h contact with coffee and alcohol- no traces after 24 h contact with paraffin and water

Ready for use putties based on Synexil® and Osakryl® dispersions, are characterized by highelasticity and hardness. Theyfeature high adherence to thesubstrate and are more resistant tohumidity than traditional gypsumfinishing coats. They may be applied in a thin layer and therefore assist in final surface smoothing before painting. They enable obtaining a white, perfectly smooth and easy to paint surface. They may be on interior building surfaces such as concrete, plaster, plasterboards, seasoned andtraditional cement and lime plaster.

Hydroisolation Synthos Specialties products are recommended for modification and plasticization of cement and lime mortars as well as binders for elasticcoatings. AdhesivesSynthos offer dispersions for production of many dispersionadhesives for mineral substrates (construction), as well as wood adhesives and paper adhesives for the packaging industry.

Additional information:

• assembly and structural adhesives that are commonly known as “liquid nails” and are used for quick and durable bonding of various materials.

• adhesive strength of "liquid nails" for various surfaces is included in the table below (the adhesive is based on 60% of AH 035 dispersion). It is recommended to use 55-65% of dispersion in the formulation.

AdditivesSynexil® ATH 30 is an acrylic thickener dedicated to modifying the rheology of water-based products in the range of architectural coatings and construction products (such as paints, plasters etc.). It belongs to a group of HASE thickeners, hydrophobically modified acrylic dispersions, characterized by associative thickening in aqueous systems. It is effective at low shear rates, giving a pseudoplastic viscosity profile.

Properties:• preventing sedimentation or dripping • creates pseudoplastic rheology profile (shear-thinning)• excellent for the spray application
