The Bad
• Performance
• Missing pieces of the puzzle
The Good
• It works!
• Culture change
• Low TCO
Platform Evolution
First and easiest decision: SAP Business Objects• Add SAP BW on top of ECC• SAP BO Lumira, Explorer, Xcelsius, etc.• Reports and Dashboards available in SAP Portal
Problems• It’s expensive• Too many products. Confusing!• Sloooooooow time-to-market
The Light!
COO request for Ras Laffan plant attendance report. Immediately!
1. Current population at any given time
2. Historical data for any employee
3. Overtime (Attendance vs. SAP plan)

EU Approves Microsoft Cloud
http://blogs.microsoft.com/blog/2014/04/10/privacy-authorities-across-europe-approve-
microsofts-cloud-commitments/
Posted April 10, 2014July 10, 2014 By Brad Smith - General Counsel and Executive
Vice President, Legal and Corporate Affairs, Microsoft
“The European Union’s data
protection authorities have found
that Microsoft’s enterprise cloud
contracts meet the high standards
of EU privacy law. This ensures
that our customers can use
Microsoft services to move data
freely through our cloud from
Europe to the rest of the world.”
“The EU’s 28 data protection authorities
acted through their “Article 29 Working
Party” to provide this approval via a joint
letter. Importantly, Microsoft is the first –
and so far the only – company to
receive this approval. This recognition
applies to Microsoft’s enterprise cloud
services – in particular, Microsoft Azure,
Office 365, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and
Windows Intune.”
