O’Rourke Elementary’sRECYCLING PROJECTS
What in the world are those?!
That looks really weird!
TerraCycle and O’Rourke are on a mission to
eliminate the idea of waste! So, our PTO and
Student Council are collecting drink
pouches. The collected pouches are then
converted into new products.
What is
?
What does “upcycle” mean??
To re-use and re-purpose old stuff into something
new and useful.
TerraCycle upcycles and recycles traditionally non-recycable waste
(drink pouches) into a large variety of consumer products. These products keep waste out of our landfills and
contribute to a cleaner world.
• Once your pouches are received and checked in to the TerraCycle facility, O’Rourke will be credited with any TerraCycle points that you may have earned for your pouches.
• TerraCycle points can be redeemed for a payment of 1 per point to O’Rourke!
1. Enjoy your drink until it is empty.
2. Remove the straw.3. Flatten the pouches.4. Each day after
snack or lunch….
FEED THEMONSTERS!
How do we prepare the pouches?
What drink pouches are accepted?? ALL aluminum and plastic
drink pouches!

O’ROURKE
RECYCLES paper!
• Just reuse any old box to hold the recycled paper for your classroom.
• Once a week, or as needed, have a student to empty the box of paper
in the campus recycle bin. **Younger grades: (K-2) may
request a Student Council member to help with this task.
Where is the bin on O’Rourke’s campus
located?
What’s Allowed ???
Thanks for all of your help!
