Textbook and Field Guide

• Required – Frank B. Ornithology, 2007. Third Edition, W.H. Freeman, 758 pp.

• Required – a field guide• Suggested – Field Guide to the Birds of North America. National Geographic Society. 2002 or newer (5th Edition is the newest).

For field Trips you will need:

• Field Guide• Field Notebook• Binoculars • Winter weight footwear and outdoor-wear

Binoculars:

• 8 or 10 power (magnification)• 30-50 (diameter of the objective lens)

• 8x40 or 8x42 typical birding binoculars
