ORLACO solutions

Operator visibility

Allround view with help of cameras to implement ISO 5006 / 16001

Mitigate more that 90% of all incidents

Stand alone system; little maintenace; minimum investment

&

Proximity warning

Short and long range radar

Stand alone system combined with CCTV; minimum investment

Radar always in combination with ORLACO camera/monitor

Mining equipment: blind spots and ISO 5006

Page 23: Orlaco presentation - Mining

Mining equipment: blind spots and ISO 5006

Camera coverage ISO5006

Red line around the machine should be visible from the

operator’s point of view.

The red line is at 1m from the machine at height = 1.5m

Usage of camera’s is in most cases necessary

Page 24: Orlaco presentation - Mining

ORLACO solutions: the importance of side view

Not only rear-view, cameras are also used for side-view as on this haul truck as the mirrors do not give the operator a good view of the truck’s surroundings.

Page 25: Orlaco presentation - Mining

Off-highway haul trucks and visibility

The operator is faced with huge blind areas around the vehicle. Mirrors are only part of the solution. ORLACO’s allround viewing system provides the operator with optimal viewing and the machine is compliant to ISO5006.

Off-highway haul trucks and visibility

With ORLACO cameras – good operator vision to the rear and front

Page 27: Orlaco presentation - Mining

ORLACO solutions: locating the camera’s

Camera’s located on dump trucks: •Cam#1: Forward Travel – Front View •Cam#2: Reverse Travel – Rear View •Cam#3: Left Turning - Driver’s Side View •Cam#4: Right Turning – Right Side View

Front- C#1

Blind Side C#4

Drivers Side C#3

Rear C#2

Page 28: Orlaco presentation - Mining

Front view

Goal •Eliminate blind spot (5-10m on large dump truck). •Each side of the front of the vehicle should be seen, including the entry to the stairway. •View of 8 meters should be seen to assist in viewing potential road hazards / debris that could damage the tyres / vehicle. * Always consult end-user to clarify desired view.

Page 29: Orlaco presentation - Mining

Installing the front view camera

Location The most front end

of the vehicle.

Page 30: Orlaco presentation - Mining

Rear view

Goal •Eliminate rear blind spot. •Load placement – assistance with backing to berm. •Prevent tyre damage by detecting rocks before reversing. •Confirm load completion / tray empty – resulting in reduced cycle time, increased productivity. •Keeping the berm intact. * Always consult end-user to clarify desired view.

Page 31: Orlaco presentation - Mining

Installing the rear view camera

Location Near the lights, back-up

sensor, etc. offers the best view as well as

protection.

Page 32: Orlaco presentation - Mining

Side view

Goal •Eliminate blind spot. •Assist with lining up truck with shovel during loading operations. •Assist with observing debris and other objects during reversing. •Should clearly see the front end of each tyre.

* Always consult end-user to clarify desired view.

ORLACO: The basic package

Suggestion of a basic package – rear view with radar – that covers Operator Visibility as well as Proximity Warning. The system is automatically switched on when the machine is put in reverse, e.g. for dump truck, loader, grader.
