Principle of OperationWhen steam passes through a restriction like an orifice plate installed in a pipeline, pressure drop occurs. A Differential pressure transmitter measures DP across the orifice
Steam flow is proportional to square root of this pressure drop
Density of a compressible fluid like steam is a function of pressure and temperature
The above input is taken in to computation unit by providing pressure and temperature sensors
The steam flow indicated is fully compensated for variation in density due to temperature and pressure variations.
Mass flow is calculated and values for both instantaneous and totalised steam mass flow displayed
