Orian was born from Cumbria County Council’s Food and Cleaning Services. Now as a wholly-owned county council company, Orian blends the rich heritage and values of the County Council with the strengths of being a private organisation - creating a modern and forward thinking team of experienced staff and managers. We have a proud history of providing good quality to customers. This is combined with a bright future where we embrace new technologies and efficient systems to continually develop our service offerings for our customers.

With our head office based in Carlisle and local offices throughout Cumbria, Orian truly is the local provider of choice for catering, cleaning, safety and waste services within the region.

Our solutions do not compromise on quality: value does not mean cheap – wherever possible our products are sourced from long established and trusted local producers who are committed to supporting and working with a fair price policy for the best quality ingredients.

Our ingredients are then carefully handled by our experienced teams in kitchens throughout the region to produce freshly prepared home cooked dishes in schools, offices and local businesses.

Training on health & safety and food hygiene are key and we strive to provide safe working environments for both our staff and your employees.

Schools, Colleges, Universities and Independent Schools

Our teams are experienced in working with schools and colleges across the North to create more than 10,000 delicious, nutritious and well balanced meals every day which children and teachers really enjoy.

We work closely in partnership with our clients to create value-added solutions to meet individual requirements ensuring value for money is at the core. We create menus with a wide variety of choice including meals for those with any special dietary requirements. These meals are freshly cooked daily by our skilled teams who really take a pride in their work.

Our teams in schools will develop menus, source the ingredients, create the dishes and ensure high standards of hygiene and quality are maintained at all times.

All staff working in schools and college environments have the appropriate CRB checks carried out before they are employed.

Business & Workplace Catering

Cleaning

We know that making a good impression for your customers is vital and creating a workplace environment that is clean and hygienic for your staff and visitors is of primary concern for all businesses. We will tailor our service to take care of all your cleaning needs.

With a highly experienced team of local staff using the latest energy efficient equipment, we can deliver a best in class and flexible cleaning service for customers from the largest corporation to small and medium sized businesses, through to public sector organisations.

At Orian, we can offer a range of safety services including road crossing guards, fire extinguisher testing and certification, as well as safety and electrical equipment testing.

Having a friendly face to help children cross the road, making sure your fire equipment is properly serviced and sited in the right locations and maintained by professionals who will also offer safety advice, is all part of the service provided by Orian.

Orian’s safety teams are trained to the highest standards incorporating all legislative requirements to ensure we are delivering a safe, high quality, service.

Waste
