Organizers' at Palace Grounds, Bengaluru Brief Report/Proceedings at Palace Grounds, Bengaluru PHARMEXCIL-Partnered with 4 th World Ayurveda Congress 9-13 December 2010,Bangalore Followed by the success of International Arogya an International Buyer Seller Meet organized by Pharmexcil at New Delhi in association with Dept.of AYUSH, Govt. of India, Pharmexcil had partnered with 4 th World Ayurveda Congress organized by Vignana Bharati (VIBHA), a mega event for the Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy sector held from December 2010 at Palace Grounds, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Core Group Formation As per the proposal by our Panel Chair, Shri Ranjit Puranik, a Core Group was formed to represent various segments of AYUSH Industry. Involved leaders from AYUSH industry in organizing the BSM and expo effectively. Members of the core group met on 17 th August 2010 at Hyderabad and discussed about the BSM and finalized the list of countries to be invited basing on their export potential and existing regulations. As I mentioned to you, I sit on the board of directors of Southern African Generic Medicines Association (SAGMA) and we will be able to influence direction of business for Ayurveda products not only in Botswana but the rest of Southern African Community (SADC). India is advanced in this area and we would like to work closely with our regulatory authorities to see how we can fast track registration of these products in Botswana. SADC Pharmaceutical Plan 2007 2012 has identified as a priority area the use of complimentary or herbal products together with research in that area. I am sure we can engage our Indian counterparts to make this a reality in the Sub-Saharan Africa.
