PlusWith WinGuard X3, we define PSIM+ as a solution reaching far beyond the common scope. PSIM+ offers the possibili-ty for a domain-encompassing integration of the complete building, communication and IT infrastructure. Another en-hancement compared to conventional PSIM solutions is the connection to higher-tier mission control systems.

Control Center The daily workflows of a control center are becoming more and more complex.

Today all technological and organizational measures of a company are coordinated here. With its modular and at the same time very compact system structure, WinGuard is the perfect solution: providing compre-hensive control while input devices are reduced.

Reports All events such as status changes, incoming event messages or user entries are logged

in WinGuard. Based on this data, reports and evaluations can be created. This also includes the possibility to draw up a PDF report directly out of the event message proces-sing. The graphic display of the collected data provides a quick overview of relevant figures. For external use, this information can be exported into standard formats or pro-vided in real-time via an open web interface.

Security & Stability The WinGuard location and redundancy concept enables the realization of complex

system architectures and fallback scenarios. The system availability is continuously ensured via Hot-Standby. The distributed data management allows smooth working even at locations that are connected via a low bandwith. The network connections are, as a matter of principle, encryp-ted by WinGuard according to current standards (AES 256).

User Interface In addition to a modern look, the WinGuard user interface offers multiple design pos-

sibilities with the interactive Layout Manager. The user works with an intuitive man-machine-interface providing the contents depending on the respective situation. This is how the highest security level is ensured, even in case of various incidents all happening at the same time.

Norms & Standards Due to the application of a quality manage-ment system certified according to ISO

9001:2008 covering the complete company processes, a high quality standard is ensured, in particular for product development. WinGuard fulfills the requirements of the norm DIN EN 50518 for alarm receiving stations as well as of the VdS guideline 3534 (security management systems for safety-relevant devices) and the Austrian norm F 3003.

Scalability WinGuard is scalable from a standalone sys-tem up to a comprehensive network solution

and can be flexibly extended anytime by further modules and interfaces. The modular extensibility of the manage-ment system offers high investment protection. With indi-vidually adapted modules for particular functions, systems, processes or verticals, WinGuard even solves specific re-quirements: A complex global solution, but easy to operate.

Event Workflows Depending on the surrounding conditions and his own system entries, the WinGuard Event

Workflows guide the user through the required measures for a quick and secure resolution of the situation. Daily operation is significantly simplified. Furthermore they offer innovative possibilites for individual sequence control and organization of the event message processing.

Attachments Different files such as single images and se-quences of the connected video systems, no-

tes, e-mails, photos and other documents can be attached to received event messages. All attachments are archived together with the event message. The attachments can be commented by the user and included selectively into the event report.

WINGUARD EXPRESSThe optimal solution for small installations

SystemWinGuard Express is a standalone system with up to 1,000 data point units and three interfaces to subsystems: The perfect and cost-efficient solution for a single location not requiring any further clients apart from the main system.

WinGuard Express is suitable e.g. for the linkage of access control with video surveillance or for visualization and con-trol of fire alarm systems with up to 1,000 detectors, inclu-ding the automatized printout of fire detector positioning plans in case of an event message.

Of course WinGuard Express can be extended anytime to a more comprehensive solution by adding further functional and interface modules.

Application ExampleThe iPhone App can already be used with WinGuard Ex-press, enabling mobile access to WinGuard and all connec-ted systems. The notification of users by forwarding event messages to the iPhone is included.

Project Example Already with WinGuard Express, comprehensive security concepts for smaller objects can be realized. In an office building, e.g. access control is an essential part, ensuring that the building and certain areas within can only be ac-cessed by authorized persons. Extended by a video surveil-lance system, the interaction of the connected devices can be automatized by WinGuard.

SystemWinGuard Basic is a distributed system with up to five cli-ents, 5,000 data point units and five interfaces - the op-timal solution for medium-sized installations, comprising multi-client mode.

The system is the ideal platform for linkage of diverse se-curity, building or information management systems. Fire alarm systems, intrusion detection, access control, video surveillance or communication systems are controlled by one uniform user interface, enabling access to all control options and displaying event messages in a clear and well-visible way.

Application ExampleThe Facility Manager offers the possibility to manage e.g. maintenance dates or inspection intervals for fire extingu-ishers, sprinkler systems, air conditioning systems, etc. All set events are comfortably displayed in a well-arranged overview. Project ExampleIn a hospital the focus is on the patient so that the se-curity and building management should work smoothly in the background. Not only optimized work processes, but also the technical reliability of the system are of utmost importance.

With fire detection systems, video surveillance, access control, nurse call system, elevator emergency call and the complete building management technology, a hospital posesses a wide range of technical installations. In additi-on there are comprehensive report requirements, e.g. for emergency workflows. Distributed clients enable a flexible task and information management, e.g. from the facili-

ty management over the ward up to the reception desk and the accident and emergency department. Due to the uniform WinGuard user interface, the processing of alarm messages and command of building control systems is very user-friendly so that employees can concentrate on their actual tasks. Of course technical messages can also be received via mobile devices so that the responsib-le personnel are always kept informed and able to react immediately. In particular the centralized documentation of all messages combined with comprehensive reporting possibilities is a decisive advantage of using a centralizing security and building management system.

SystemWinGuard Professional is a distributed system with up to 15 clients, 25,000 data point units and 15 interfaces. The development of new interfaces is possible.

WinGuard Professional is designed to offer multiple red-undancy levels to always ensure the high availabilty of the security and building management platform. Thanks to Hot Standby, the system functionality is kept even if a central component fails. This is particularly important for critical environments, e.g. in the finance sector, in data centers, correctional facilities or any other highly-sensitive areas.

Project Example In an automotive plant with almost 10,000 employees, both the corporate security but also the production proces-ses have to be monitored.

Among other installed systems, the fire alarm technology is an important aspect, as the production site has its own fire department. The CAD Support plus offers the possi-bility to automatically insert all detector positions and at-tributes into the floor plans. In case of a fire alarm, the corresponding floor plan is immediately displayed in the user interface, i.e. the alarm-giving detector is exactly lo-calized. At the same time, the camera on site is displayed and the image can be shown via the Video Display e.g. on

a video wall. Dynamic event message texts guide the user through the event processing, whilst cross-system actions are automatically initiated in the background. Alarms, e.g. via phone, SMS, radiocommuniation or e-mail, can be se-lected manually or run automatically in the background. A Hot-Standby Server ensures the high availability of the system.

In addition to the numerous subsystems of building, se-curity and communication management, the connection of superordinated operation control systems for resource planning is enabled via a documented interface.

WINGUARD ENTERPRISENearly unlimited application possibilities

SystemWinGuard Enterprise is a distributed system with unlimited locations, clients, data point units and interfaces. The de-velopment of new interfaces is possible.

WinGuard Enterprise is representing multi-location sys-tems, the ideal solution e.g. for distributed stores of a retail chain. With the System Manager module, the control of se-veral independent WinGuard systems spread over multiple locations is possible. The status of each system is shown in a task bar as part of the WinGuard user interface so that the user profits from a clear overview. Automatic actions can be executed by the system in each connected location, enabling centralized control.

Application ExampleMap material can be integrated via the geo data interface (Google Statis Maps API). Each data point can be geo-re-ferenced by its placement on the map which is supporting the visualization of different locations and mobile devices.

Project Example A centralized control room offers the optimal solution for the operator of a retail chain with numerous chain stores, to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

With location servers installed in the distributed locations, WinGuard collects information from all connected systems such as fire and intrusion alarm systems, access control, RFID and cashier systems and video surveillance.

Event messages are displayed in one well-arranged user interface at the centralized workstations so that security

officers focus on the important situations. The WinGuard Event Workflows assist the user in taking the appropriate measures. In addition, WinGuard offers continuous surveil-lance of building technology systems, e.g. temperature of cooling chambers.

If an event message is received, the overall control center as well as a service technician on site is automatically in-formed by SMS, e-mail or phone. The connection of further process-supporting software is possible.

User Management With the User Management plus, an existing Active Directory can be leveraged, enabling

central user management and the linkage of profiles with correspondingly named groups. Thus users already logged in to Windows do not need to identify themselves again when starting WinGuard („Single Sign On“).

Interfaces Technical subsystems are linked to WinGuard via specific Interfaces. These interfaces

might significantly differ, depending on the device type and its manufacturer. To allow WinGuard to communicate with different systems, program modules (interface modules) are applied, providing the offered functions in a uniform format which is used by WinGuard. The amount and type of the installed interface modules is at the same time also defining the functional scope of the system.

Video Manager WinGuard can control analog as well as di-gital video systems. The display interface is

freely adaptable and different layouts can be predefined. Live picture displays, PTZ control and archive access are uniformly possible, provided that the connected systems have the corresponding functionality.

For an easy control, Video Control Units or USB joysticks can be used. With the help of an additional Video Displays running on a separate PC and being remotely controlled by the WinGuard client, the video display can be transferred e.g. to a video wall.

Editor Modules The graphic and workflow editor (Projec-tion) links graphic files in different formats

with actions. A data point symbol library (drag & drop) as well as a text editor for the display of event messages is included.

Text modules, personal data and list fields can be easily inserted by interactive dialogue and conditional elements. The User layouts enable a free configuration of the pro-gram interface. Separate user profiles are available. The user interface can also be adapted for touch screen usage with buttons.

Notification Event Routing, i.e. the forwarding of event messages to clients and communication

channels, is integrated in all WinGuard versions. This is how a parallel event processing according to diverse criteria is al-lowed, e.g. corresponding to event type, place or time frame.

In addition, the Notification Module offers automatic or ma-nual forwarding of messages by e-mail, fax or voice mail to predefined persons. It is also possible to issue a dynamic Text-to-Speech message, i.e. via loudspeaker or telephone, in lots of different languages.

The SMS-Module as well as the iOS App offers the interac-tive integration of modern communication devices into the notification chain. This function allows a well-arranged and compact mobile access to the states and messages of the WinGuard system at any time.

The Scheduler provides calendars, time schedules and auto-matic actions in WinGuard.

CAD Support The dynamic WinGuard CAD Support offersa user-friendly import as well as the possibi-

lity to control the layers of AutoCAD graphics, including all graphic elements and the layer structure.

In addition, the CAD Support plus enables the integration of DWG and DXF graphics with an automatic linking of de-tectors (import of data point blocks). Data point positions are automatically transferred and activated.

System Manager The System Manager controls several inde-pendent WinGuard systems, spread over mul-

tiple locations. Each WinGuard system is displayed with its system status in the task bar.

Data Points All types of detectors, such as cameras, phone stations etc. are uniformly managed

as Data Points in WinGuard. Data points require either one (e.g. fire and intrusion detectors, lighting, monitors) or several data point unit licenses (e.g. doors, cameras, intercom). An automatic setup function for data points sim-plifies the projection. The more extensive an installation, the more Data Point Units are required for the linkage to WinGuard.

Geo Information Interactive geo data interface for the integ-ration of geo information systems. Currently,

map material can be integrated via Google StaticMaps API. Data points being placed or shifted on the integrated maps automatically receive the corresponding geo coordinates. Through the flexible interface design by the Layout Mana-ger, the Geo Information System and map material can be accessed in separate window areas of the WinGuard user interface and integrated into event workflows.

Clients The WinGuard Client with its full functional scope (e.g. integration of video systems, dis-

play of CAD graphics and system configuration possibilities) and its reliability (distributed data management allows an autarkic operation in case of connection interruptions) pro-vides the recommended work environment for WinGuard. The module Multi Monitor Support extends the display of the WinGuard user interfaces to several monitors.

Multi Sites The Interface Server concentrates system connections in order to take load off the

main server. Up to 10 system connections per interface server are possible.

An external location can be equipped with a Location Ser-ver to ensure its independence in case of a breakdown of central resources. The complete database is stored on the server but administration is possible from every client. In case of a server breakdown the external location is conti-nuing independently with full function.

Facility Manager Facility management interface for collection, administration and event projection of offline

data, e.g. maintenance dates/inspection intervals for fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, air conditioning systems, etc. Serial sequences (once, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) can be defined here.

The management of building control technology installati-ons is user-optimized. All set events are comfortably dis-played by the Facility Manager in a well-arranged over-view.

Redundancy Hot-Standby is a structure to ensure the system availability in case a central com-

ponent fails.

The replacement system on a second computer is con-tinuously keeping the complete data base of the main system, based on the generally distributed data manage-ment in WinGuard (server and client). This is how a setup of even complex fallback levels is possible in order to ensure the WinGuard system stability at any time.

Only a constantly maintained system fulfills the strict re-quirements of a perfect security organization. New func-tions in WinGuard as well as interfaces to systems and installations are constantly being developed and already existing ones are optimized in order to adapt the software architecture to the current standards.

In the course of time, lots of our customers extend their WinGuard installation with additional functional modules and interfaces or they intend to renew computers or the operating system. There are often also changing require-ments with regard to the performance of a security and building management system, or new application possi-bilities come up due to innovations of the connected ins-tallations. This is why an update is worthwile and mostly even necessary. Within 12 months after purchase of a WinGuard system, updates are provided free of charge.

After expiration of this period, an Update Contract ensu-res that WinGuard always remains up to date. An Update Contract is much more cost-saving and comfortable ompa-red to the purchase of single updates.

The special benefits are:

• Over the agreed term (1 or 3 years), your WinGuard system is constantly kept up to date. Advancis is pro-viding you with an update every year. This is how you automatically profit from any further development.

• Manufacturers of the connected systems such as ac-cess control, video surveillance, etc. often adapt their interfaces in order to support new functionalities. An Update Contract ensures that the necessary upgrades in WinGuard are promptly provided.

• Free of charge use of our support hotline.

• On-site service or remote maintenance at preferential conditions.

• Extension of warranty for the total Update Contract term.

• Special terms and conditions for trainings.

Industry

Cross-linked fire alarm and sprinkler systems in spaciousindustrial plants are visualized clearly by WinGuard. Thesemay be viewed freely in scalable plans or map views. Em-ployee safety can be ensured and responded to immedia-tely.

Critical condition messages from different areas can be handed over to WinGuard for detailed processing and re-porting. Printout of escape route plans in case of incidentcan be automated. Use of mobile clients can also leverage limited resources.

Finance & Administration

In financial and administration buildings, the full scope ofsecurity, building, communication and network technolo-gies is applied. WinGuard’s advantage is that it covers thetotal range of deployed systems.

In addition to area and perimeter protection, access con-trol and video monitoring, the technical utilities are also included, e.g. emergency power supply.

Furthermore there are personal security and communica-tion systems. Defined maintenance intervals can be easilymonitored via the Facility Management module.

Data Centers

Data centers are highly-secured buildings. In addition to the conventional security systems, environmental condi-tions such as temperature, humidity or power are all critical elements that require monitoring.

Monitoring these critical conditions allows for events to begenerated prior to costly repairs or services needing to bemade.

Any breakdown of emergency systems, such as uninter-rupted power supply (UPS) and generators is detected, foran immediate initiation of the appropriate measures.

Penal & Forensic

Penal and forensic institutions place high requirements ontheir security management system. In case of an event, WinGuard is able to cross-reference with an occupant da-tabase which provides important occupant information. WinGuard offers multiple layers of redundancy and disas-ter recovery solutions as required by these facilities.

Armed Forces

Open-air ground security (perimeter protection), intrusion detection technology and video monitoring comprise a few components of a military-secured area. Additionally, WinGuard interfaces with asset management and key management systems as they interact with other alarm points.
