Message from the Organising Chairman

In November 2010, the Malaysian Association for Thoracic &

Cardiovascular Surgery will convene its 13th

Annual Scientific

Meeting in Melaka. I would like to thank the Association for giving

me the opportunity to organise this year’s meeting along with my

colleagues in Melaka.

On behalf of the Association as well as Dr Leong Kin Seng from the

local Organising Committee, it is a privilege and great pleasure to

cordially invite you to attend this meeting. The Historical City of

Melaka has recently been listed as a UNESCO World heritage site.

The scientific programme will include plenary lectures and

symposia to cover various updates, recent topics and issues in

Cardiothoracic Surgery presented by both the local and invited

overseas faculty. It has always been the desire of the Association

to conduct a post-graduate programme to benefit the

Cardiothoracic Trainees. We will include a pre-congress

workshop in the form of a post-graduate review course for the

trainees. The meeting will also highlight topics which will benefit

other members of the fraternity such as anaesthetists, nurses,

perfusionists and other allied health personnel.

The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Melaka which is situated

in close proximity to the various historical sites of Melaka.

Once again, along with my co-chairman Dr Leong Kin Seng, I

would like to invite you all to attend the 13th

MATCVS Annual

Scientific Meeting.

Selamat D atang ke M elaka dan Salam Satu M alaysia.

Thank you.
