ABOUT RMKCET
People in Chennai and elsewhere have discovered that the R.M.K. group creates a rock solid foundation
for young minds to build a career and face the world boldly and cheerfully. As a result of this the demand
for seats in these institutions reached new heights and the management was pressurized into starting one
more institution here. As the Lakshmikanthammal Trust's main objective is to foster quality technical and
higher education, research and training in rural areas in various branches of science and technology and
simultaneously inculcate among the youth, a sense of discipline and pride in their hard work so that they
can be moulded into competent technocrats of the century, they decided to have another college of
engineering in the vicinity. So was born the 'R.M.K. COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY'.
The fledgling college has all the advantages of its mighty sister concerns R.M.K. Engineering College &
R.M.D. Engineering College. With the older siblings' help and with its own innate strength it is sure to fly
high like a garuda and soar to new heights.

w w w . r m k c e t . a c . i nINDIA UNITY IN DIVERSITY
With the majestic Himalayan ranges in the north and endless stretch of golden beaches on the other three sides,
India offers a perfect mix of landscapes, magnificent historical sites, royal cities, misty mountain retreats, colorful
people, rich cultures and festivities. India is home alike to the tribal and to the sophisticated urbanite. It is a land
where tradition and technology exist in harmony. Ancient monuments are the backdrops for the world's largest
democracy. The most renowned symbol of love and architectural excellence, the Taj Mahal- one of the 7 wonders
of the world, lead the list of a vast number of historical monuments.
India offers you unlimited choices. For here, action and tranquility are the two sides of a coin. While imposing
peaks challenge you to conquer them; gentle mountains invite you for a leisurely trek. The rivers beckon you to taste the
thrill of river running or try your hand at catching some trout. The clear blue waters of India's island beaches are
ideal for scuba diving and snorkeling, or for a languorous soak in the sun. India's landscape is blessed with terrains
that make it a perfect destination for the adventurous traveler.
The timeless mystery and beauty of India can be experienced only by visiting this ancient Land. Truly a must see !
ABOUT CHENNAI
Chennai, previously known as Madras, the capital of Tamil Nadu, is the country's fourth largest city. Chennai was the site
of the first settlement of the East India Company. It was founded in 1639, on a piece of land given by the Raja of
Chandragiri, the last representative of the Vijayanagar rulers of Hampi.
Chennai, the gracious capital of Tamil Nadu is the fourth largest metropolis in India. Located on a 17km stretch
of the Coramandel coast, the city is trisected by the waterways of Cooum, Adyar and the Buckingham Canal.
With a population of 6 million people, Chennai is a vibrant city ever growing, expanding and changing every year.
Popularly regarded as the "Gateway to the South", Chennai presents culture that is distinctly different from that of
northern India. Music, dance and all other art forms of the South are cherished and nurtured in this city which, though
industrialized, continues to be traditional and conventional in many ways.
