Organisation of Props I used a stool in my photo shoot as I wanted some pictures of me sitting down. I chose this stool as the height was perfect and the dress covered it so that it could not be seen but was still effective. The next prop I used was boxing gloves. As I knew I wanted my front cover to have attitude and the theme of the magazine was classical music ‘fighting’ back against its boring stereotype, I decided that boxing gloves were the most simple yet dramatic prop I could add to my picture. The red in them conveys danger both they also stand out from my black prom dress.

Organisation of Props

I used a stool in my photo shoot as I wanted some pictures of me

sitting down. I chose this stool as the height was perfect and the

dress covered it so that it could not be seen but was still effective.

The next prop I used was boxing gloves. As I knew I wanted my front

cover to have attitude and the theme of the magazine was classical

music ‘fighting’ back against its boring stereotype, I decided that

boxing gloves were the most simple yet dramatic prop I could add to

my picture. The red in them conveys danger both they also stand out

from my black prom dress.

The main prop I used was a viola. This was the most important prop

as it was featured in the main cover image. It gives connotations of

class and is a well-known instrument used in classical music so when

the reader sees my magazine they can instantly recognise that it is a

classical genre. Although there are many other instruments used for

classical, the viola was perfect as it was small enough to not block

the model yet big enough to be seen and make a strong impact of

the reader.

The other props featured in my

Photo shoot included an electric

guitar. The black box was used to

power the guitar.

At first I tried out shots of me

holding the guitar below the

viola as if the viola had won the

fight. However, I found that this

would not be obvious to the

reader and may cause

complication so I chose not to

use this shot in my final

magazine.
