Oregon

Visitors are drawn to the scenic beauty of Oregon, which combines historic towns, sleepy fishing villages, ski resorts and wineries. The landscape is rich with diversity from its nearly 644 km (400 miles) of spectacular coastline and mountains, to lakes, rivers, streams, deserts and forests. The low Coast Range runs parallel to the Pacific Ocean and is forested with spruce, fir and hemlock; in fact, nearly half the state is forested. Weather moves eastwards from the ocean

across the Willamette Lowlands to the rugged Cascade Mountains, soaring to the highest peak of Mt Hood, at 3,353 m (11,239 ft), where cold, moist air dumps heavy snowfalls. Turn north onto the Bureau of Land Management's East Hyatt Lake Road. Follow the road for approximately 3 miles until you reach the Hyatt Lake Recreation Area. Stay to the right on East Hyatt Lake Road; an entry booth, located at the entrance to the campground, has visitor camping information.

Directions From Medford, OR, take OR-140 (Lake of the Woods Hwy) about 20 miles to Fish Lake Campground. From Klamath Falls, take OR-140 (Falls Hwy) about 4 miles past Lake of the Woods to the Campground. Fish Lake Campground is adjacent to, but not part of Fish Lake Resort.

This campground provides opportunities for fly-fishing as well as access to trails for hiking and horseback riding.

Directions From Bend, travel 35.5 miles southwest on Cascade Lakes Hwy (46), then 1.3 miles east on Forest Road 4625. South Campground will come up on the right side first and then Mallard Marsh.

Special Attractions • McKenzie River • Terwilliger Hot Springs Recreation Biking, hiking, fishing, swimming, boating Of Interest Known for its access to rafting and drift boat fishing on the McKenzie River, Delta campground is one of the largest and most scenic campgrounds on the McKenzie District. Access to the river, Cougar Reservoir and Terwilliger Hot Springs make this campground a great spot for camping and exploring the area. Several hiking trails are in the surrounding wilderness, guarded by large Douglas fir and western red cedar trees. Visitors can also enjoy a short botanical walk on the Delta Old Growth Nature Trail. A Day Use area and amphitheater are also available at the campground.

Directions Located 51 miles from Eugene OR on HWY 126 to the Cougar Reservoir turn off. Take a right turn on Aulderheide RD and cross the McKenzie River, turn right into the campground entrance rd. Follow the rd approximately 1 mile to the CG.

Directions From the city of Burns, Oregon, take U.S. Highway 395 approximately 17 miles north. There are signs for the campground 1/2-mile from the site in both directions.

Turn right onto County Road 127/ Forest Road 47 at the sign for Yellowjacket Lake and Delintment Lake. Special Attractions • Mt. Hood Recreation Biking, hiking, wildlife viewing, horseback riding Of Interest Riley Campground is an equestrian facility located northwest of Oregon's majestic Mt. Hood. Horse corrals are tucked into the forest near the campsites, and several horseback riding trails can be accessed from the campground. A variety of recreational and sightseeing opportunities are available for visitors to enjoy.

Directions From Sandy, travel Highway 26 for 18 miles to Zigzag. Turn north onto Lolo Pass Road. Continue for about 4 miles, then turn right on Forest Road 1825 and continue for less than a mile. Bear right, staying on Forest Road 1825, and cross the Sandy River Bridge. Continue for another half-mile, to Forest Roads 1825-382. Turn right, cross Lost Creek Bridge, and the campground will be almost immediately on the right.

Special Attractions • Walla Walla River Trail Recreation Biking, hiking, wildlife viewing, horseback riding, fishing, swimming Of Interest Located around a scenic meadow and surrounded by majestic trees such as Engelmann spruce and Lodgepole pine, Target Meadows has a unique history. It was used by U.S. Army soldiers stationed at Ft. Walla Walla as a summer encampment and artillery range from the late 1880s through 1906. Visitors who explore the campground and surrounding area can even find grooves in trees left by the Calvary's bullets. Located at the end of the road is the Burnt Cabin Trailhead. This trail will lead you down to the South Fork Walla Walla River Trail.

Directions From Weston, Oregon: Travel 20 miles east of Weston on Highway 204. Turn left (north) onto Forest Service Road 64. Go two miles then turn left onto Forest Service Road 6401. Follow the road for 1.5 miles until you come to a T-intersection. Turn right onto Forest Service Road 060. Target Meadows is located approximately ¼ to ½ mile further down the road.

Special Attractions • Langdon Lake Recreation Biking, hiking, wildlife viewing, horseback riding, fishing, swimming Of Interest Nestled amongst trees such as Engelmann spruce and other conifers, this popular campground has ample shade and a hiking trail, not to mention it is close to the beautiful North Fork Umatilla Wilderness and the numerous trails and wildlife viewing it has to offer. Woodward Campground is situated on the edge of Langdon Lake, which is a private lake and therefore campers are unable to access it. However, some sites do offer a view of the water.

Directions From Weston, Oregon: Travel approximately 20 miles east of Weston on Highway 204. Woodward Campground is located just off of Highway 204 on your right.

Directions From Medford, OR, take OR-140 (Lake of the Woods Hwy) about 20 miles to Fish Lake Campground. From Klamath Falls, take OR-140 (Falls Hwy) about 4 miles past Lake of the Woods to the Campground. Fish Lake Campground is adjacent to, but not part of Fish Lake Resort.

Directions From Roseburg, OR, travel east on OR-138 east / northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard for approximately 16 miles. Turn right onto Little River Road 17. Continue on Little River Road for 12 miles to Wolf Creek Campground, located on the right side of the road.
