To the stranger in need of fellowship, to those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, young and old, first-time or longtime worshipers, full of doubts or confidence, joy or sorrow, and to whoever will come, this congregation opens wide its doors and welcomes all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

COMMUNITY GROUPSRedeemer Community Groups exist to be communities of faith, provoked by the Redeemer’s love, to serve Sugar Land and beyond, by creating spaces in homes for friendship, growth in faith, and serving others. Learn more about our Community Groups throughout Sugar Land at redeemersl.org.
SERVE ON A MIN ISTRY TEAMEach week we gather to create space for people to worship and encourage one another. Our hope is that all who come through our doors find a sense of belonging both to God and to one another. If you’re interested in helping to serve, we encourage you to join a ministry team. Find a ministry team leader by looking toward the back of the bulletin. To sign up to serve, contact [email protected].
CHILDRENAll children’s classrooms are temporatily suspended. Please connect on Facebbook at Redeemer Kids for weekly lessons and activities. For further information contact Lore Mullins at [email protected].
“Our wisdom consists almost entirely of two parts: the knowledge of God and of ourselves.” –John Calvin
“Jesus’s kingdom is not of this corrupt, sin-infested world, even though he rules all things. But his kingdom has everything to do with the world he was redeeming, wherein truth and righteousness would reign.”
– William Edgar
“Faith, accordingly, is not a work, a condition, an intellectual assent to the statement ‘Christ died for you’ but an act of reliance on Christ himself, of trusting in his sacrifice alone.”
–Herman Bavinck

CALL TO CONFESSION 1 John 2:1
1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if any-one does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
Dear gracious Heavenly Father, we are in awe of your great mercy and steadfast love for us. We confess that we have been swept up by the ways of this world instead of seeking to do your will. We rebel against your ways because our hearts are full of sin and self-ishness. We reject the guidance of your Spirit and your Word when we pridefully lean on our own understanding. We plead for your grace upon us. Incline your ear to our troubles. Comfort us when guilt and Satan’s accusations make us ashamed to draw near to you. Forgive us Lord and bring healing to our lives through the work of your son Jesus Christ. And in His name we pray. Amen.
WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT * Ezekiel 36:25-27
PEOPLE: Thanks be to God!!! Amen.
SILENT CONFESSION
CONFESSION
CONFESSION OF SIN
25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

1 Take this time to remind each other that Christ brings peace to the world by saying, “May the peace of Christ be with you!” You can reply by saying, “And also with you!”
COMMITMENT
PRESENTING TO GOD OUR GIFTS AND OFFERINGSThe offering is a way for Christians to support the mission and ministry of the church. Christians offer a sacrificial portion of their resources – time, talents, and possessions – as an act of faith and gratitude in response to God’s grace. While many at Redeemer make their regular contributions through the mail or by automated bill pay, offerings are a part of our worship service as an opportunity for the regular, proportionate and generous giving of the resources God has given us.
If you wish to give during the service there is a wooden box you may drop your tithes and offering in to maintain little contact as we resume in-person worship.
REDEEMER MISSIONS CORNER
Here at Redeemer, we are blessed to assist financially and prayerfully with missions around the world. As we receive word from those whom we support, we will pass those messages on to you. Here is the latest Re-deemer Mission Corner Updates: The Atkins family, J.D. along with his wife Alice and their boys are headed to the Netherlands where he will become a professor at Tyndale Theological Seminary outside of Amsterdam. They plan to leave, Lord willing, on July 21, 2020. Keep them in your prayers as they carry the Gospel of Christ to Europe. For additional current details, see their newsletter at http://redeemersl.org/connect/mission, E-mail to [email protected] or follow on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/AtkinsOnMission/

THE PEACE OF GODLEADER: May the peace of Christ be with you!PEOPLE: And also with you!1
DOXOLOGY
Praise God from whom all blessings flow, In heav’n above and here below.
Praise God the Father and the Son! Praise God the Spirit, three in one!
1 Truy God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled, my steps had nearly slipped.3 For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.4 For they have no pangs until death; their bodies are fat and sleek.5 They are not in trouble as others are; they are not stricken like the rest of mankind.6 Therefore pride is their necklace; violence covers them as a garment.7 Their eyes swell out through fatness; their hearts overflow with follies.8 They scoff and speak with malice; loftily they threaten oppression.9 They set their mouths against the heavens, and their tongue struts through the earth.10 Therefore his people turn back to them, and find no fault in them.11 And they say, “How can God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?”12 Behold, these are the wicked; always at ease, they increase in riches.13 All in vain have I kept my heart clean and washed my hands in innocence.14 For all the day long I have been stricken and rebuked every morning.15 If I had said, “I will speak thus,” I would have betrayed the generation of your children.16 But when I thought how to understand this, it seemed to me a wearisome task,
17 until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I discerned their end.18 Truly you set them in slippery places; you make them fall to ruin.19 How they are destroyed in a moment, swept away utterly by terrors!20 Like a dream when one awakes, O Lord, when you rouse yourself, you despise them as phantoms.21 When my soul was embittered, when I was pricked in heart,22 I was brutish and ignorant; I was like a beast toward you.23 Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand.24 You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory.25 Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.27 For behold, those who are far from you shall perish; you put an end to everyone who is unfaithful to you.28 But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.

COMMISSION
INTERCESSORY PRAYERSThose who would like to be prayed for are invited to meet on Zoom at 2p.m. with our prayer ministry members.
GUIDELINES FOR THE RECEPTION OF COMMUNION
Communion, also called The Lord’s Supper or the Eucharist, is the family meal of Christians. We invite all committed followers of Jesus Christ to partake of this sacrament: those who are baptized members of a congregation that proclaims the gospel, who are at peace with God and with their neighbor, and who seek strength to live more faithfully for Christ. If you are not a Christian, or if you are not prepared to share in this meal, we encourage you to spend this time in prayer. We hope that this time is helpful to you as you consider your relationship with Jesus Christ and with His people, the church.
