ObituaryYour time on this earth was so very short, but you made a great impact on all the people whose paths you crossed.

Rest in peace little butterfly, fly butterfly, fly. You won't have to suffer anymore. We will all miss you and cherish

your memory.

Marjorie Denise Smith, age 25, of Nashville, Tennessee, was born to Earth on December 9, 1982, and rose to

Christ on July 12, 2008, after a recent diagnosis of Hamman-Rich Syndrome at a local hospital.

Marjorie was baptized at an early age and professed her faith in Christ at Christ Church of the Nazarene. Her love

for Christ extended into her love for music. She was an active participant in the music ministry. This participation

included Praise and Worship at Christ Church of the Nazarene and Amazing Tones of Joy at Western Kentucky

University; she was an active member of the Changed People Gospel Group.

Marjorie received her education in the Nashville Public School System. At an early age, her IQ was tested to be

that of genius level. She attended Meigs Magnet School and graduated from Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet High

School with Honors in May 2001. While in high school she was a member of Lambda Iota Theta Sorority,

Incorporated. Marjorie furthered her education at Middle Tennessee State University on a full presidential schol-

arship. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with a Certificate of Financial Planning from

Western Kentucky University in December 2005.

During her life, Marjorie visited Germany, Switzerland, and the Dominican Republic. She spoke fluent German and

studied Latin, French, and Spanish.

Shortly after graduating from Western Kentucky University, Marjorie obtained a sales position with Dell

Corporation. Prior to her death, Marjorie was employed with State Farm Agent Terry Stone as an Agency Contact

Specialist with aspirations of owning her own agency.

Marjorie leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Alexis Deanne Waters, age two; parents: Joe A. Smith, Jr.

and Laura Grant (Smith); brothers: Joe A. Smith, III (Springfield, MA) and Dominick J. Smith; sisters: Melinda

Anter, Jenaline Fisher, Catherine Anter, and Anastasia Anter, all of Tennessee; special friend, Damon (Fame)

Huddleston; nieces and nephews: A’Darius Parrish, India Green, and David and Charles Coons; devoted friends

Nancy Collins, Irucka Embry (Laura), Renee Fishback, Shante’ Hatchett, Amber Harding, Adriane Haynes, Cami

Lusk, Kacey Lusk, Adrian Parrish (Anastasia), Adrian Simmons, and Danika White; and a host of relatives and

friends.

I was truly blessed to have been gifted with a ray of sunshine on December 9, 1982. Since then you grew and fol-lowed your life's path. You blossomed from a beautiful baby to young lady, scholar and mother! You left yourcocoon and ascended to your heavenly home - my baby, my beautiful butterfly. You will forever be in my heart!

Margie-Pooh, you are my life and my heart. I have always loved you and always will. You have made me veryproud of you and all of your accomplishments. I will greatly miss you and you willbe a part of my life forever. Thank you for being a wonderful girlfriend. I will always love you.
