OCTOBER 12, 2008

How does the Christian citizen develop opinions about public policy, political party platforms and candidates for office? Can the Scriptures help us? Can we know for sure for whom and for what we ought to vote? Tonight Pastor Sandy explores these issues. Come — and bring a friend, of either political party, or no party — to worship God!

Weekly Focus on Mission PartnersWorld Missions: Second’s missionary, Dr. Raju Abraham, asks that we please pray with him as he and our partners at Kachhwa are part of the 1.1 million people in India who are joining together in this month’s intense prayer and church planting effort for that nation. In Allahabad, a key religious city, over 4,000 prayer walkers from emerging churches in the South are praying on site. Many cities in the North (the least evangelized) are developing 24/7 prayer groups to see the country transformed by the message of Christ. Elections are being affected and formerly intense strongholds are being undermined. At the same time opposition is arising as more and more Christian churches are being planted.MissionUSA: Please pray that God keeps all the JIFF staff with purified hearts and a longing to serve. Also pray that God will shield and protect their leader, Rick Carr, and his family, and that the program will have the funding it needs. Please pray for successful ministry.
