Habitat

• The Orange Bellied Parrot lives in coastal areas and low scrublands and grassy areas. It breeds in the Tasmanian forests.

Life cycle

• It nests in hollow trees. The female lays eggs two days a part. She sits on the eggs for ten days. The baby birds leave the nest after four days.

Orange Bellied Parrot

• An Orange Bellied Parrot is just bigger than a budgie. The male and female are slightly different. The male has a grassy greenie yellowy throat and bright yellow under the tail and bright blue on the wings. The Orange Bellied Parrot has an Orange patch on their belly. The female has duller colours. They have a greyish black bill. The female has a smaller orange patch but the male has a bigger patch.
