Orana Heights Public School - Banner
Awards
Congratulations to Gabrielle McKenzie, Katie Nissen
and Lucy Westaway who received their banner at our
last assembly.
This is the second highest welfare award received at
Orana Heights Public School.
From the Principal’s Desk Ms Annie Munro Next week we look forward to the first of our Kindergarten Orientation sessions. On Thursday 14th is the
parent information session where parents stay during the session and learn about your child’s future education.
This Friday is the school’s Fete. We are appreciative of all the donations, both small and big, which contribute to the activities and stalls being run. The students look forward to this afternoon event.
Yesterday afternoon there was a situation out the front of the school, Oak Street, which caused an unsafe event. Please follow the road rules around the school’s boundaries. I have spoken to the local police today who are willing to make some patrols when possible.

The Department’s Revised Enrolment Policy What has not changed?
Schools will continue to enrol students who live in their local intake area, regardless of the school’s cap status.
Enrolment procedures for students accessing particular education settings (for example selective schools, distance education, specialist support classes for students with disability, Intensive English Centres) are not affected by the revised policy.
Schools will continue to provide families with support and advice during the enrolment process, including assessment of exceptional and compelling circumstances particularly for vulnerable students and their families.
Schools will also continue to apply the policy fairly and consistently using transparent and accountable processes when making decisions about enrolment applications. Parents and carers have a right of appeal to determine whether the stated processes have been applied in a procedurally fair manner.
