BackgroundBiological Therapies is an Australian owned company licensed with the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) to manufacture a comprehensive range of nutritional products as sterile injectables and oral solutions and powders.

Dr Glen Dettman commenced manufacture of injectable Vitamin C in his pathology premises in 1971. From 1973 onwards Dr Ian Dettman then extended the Vitamin C range to include several dose forms and developed intravenous EDTA for chelation along with a Vitamin B complex range and numerous oral products. Biological Therapies has now grown to include 12 factories and is externally audited annually to the highest level of Good Manufacturing Practice, the European PIC/S code of GMP, which assures safety and efficacy of products for your patients.

Pro! le of Dr Ian DettmanFollowing Pharmacy College of Victoria Dr Ian completed tertiary studies in Microbiology, Biochemistry and Genetics; further studies at Monash University led to a PhD in Biochemistry involving connective tissue research. He then qualified as a registered Pathology Practitioner (Oakleigh Pathology Service) before developing patents for injectable Vitamin C and high standard pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.

Dr Ian founded Biological Therapies (www.biologicaltherapies.com.au) a TGA registered pharmaceutical PIC/S code manufacturing facility of injectable and oral nutrients. He conducted a research project on Vitamin C levels in new born infants in collaboration with The Linus Pauling Institute, Dr Glen Dettman and Dr Archie Kalokerinos. Dr Ian founded and co-authored courses for ACMN - Australasian College of Medical Nutrition (www.nutritioncollege.org ). He co-founded and was the senior Director of Medical Nutrition, the first dedicated integrative Pathology service in Australia which introduced Comprehensive Stool Analysis and IgG4 testing, courtesy of Dr Jonathon Wright’s USA Pathology “Meridian Valley”.

Dr Ian has delivered numerous lectures to medical Doctors in Australia at a range of meetings including ACNEM, Swinburne University School of Integrative Medicine, A5M, Australian College of Holistic Medicine, Australasian College of Medical Nutrition ACMN (Founder) and the Australasian Institute for Medical Nutrition AIMN (Founder), China (visiting Professor), South America and Japan. Dr Ian has also tutored and demonstrated in Biochemistry to Monash University Medical students. He was a senior member of the ACNEM Board where he had duties including the Education Committee, Management Committee and Treasurer and co-authored training for Vitamin C and Chelation STP’s. For services rendered to ACNEM he was made a Life Member.

Biological Therapies Oral Powders

A healthy human body should contain several grams of Vitamin C. Our bodies are unable to produce our own Vitamin C because we lack an enzyme called L-gulonolactone oxidase.
