Oral Language Prompts – Famous Paintings Preparation: Print and assemble a Question Cube using the template below. If working in groups make one Question Cube for each group. Instructions: Project, or print and distribute, the famous paintings below. Working as a whole class, or in groups, each child takes a turn to roll the Question Cube and ask the child on his/her right a question about the painting, using the ‘W’ question words. For example, ‘What’ does the painting show? ‘Who’ do you think the people in the painting are? ‘How’ does the painting make you feel? etc. Encourage the children to use as much vocabulary and language as they can, especially adjectives, adverbs etc. Paintings: 1.
