About Organization of Islamic CooperationIt is Second largest inter-govt organization after United NationIt has membership of 57 states spread over four continentsPopulation covered by OIC estimated in 2011 about 1.6 billion.The Organization is the collective voice of the Muslim countriesAnd ensuring to safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslims in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony among varies people of the world.

Need for Organization of Islamic cooperationIndia who had already occupied Jammu and Kashmir in 1948,attacked Pakistan in 1965,in 1967 Israel attacked 3 Arab countries: Egypt, Jordan and SyriaAnd On 21 August 1969 the Jewish attacked on masjid Al AqsaAfter these attacks the Leaders of Muslim nations met inRabat, Kingdom of Morocco to establish the OIC on 12th Rajab 1389 Hijra (25 September 1969)

Name And Logo changes28 June 2011 during 38 council of foreign Ministers meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan. The Organization changed the Name from organization of Islamic conference to organization of Islamic cooperation.And also changed the logo of OIC

Achievements of OIC In 1970 when a conflict broke out between Jordan and Palestine Liberation Organization, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League initiative to resolve the clash.In 1974, the conflict between the newly formed Bangladesh and Pakistan was successfully solved by the Organization.gained confidence on the issue of Ramadan War in 1973 against IsraelOIC leadership also successfully solved the issue of oil restriction against the supporters of Israel in 1974.

TheUSA started a war against Iraq andthe Organization of Islamic Cooperation was justa spectatorOnwards, the USA attacked Afghanistan and nothing was done by theOICDaily killing of Muslims in Iraq, Afghanistan ,Burma and Palestine were seen, buttheOIC was just also a spectator and it did not tryanyeffortto solve the issue Rebels in Libya were supported by the French Air Force and the NATO and the OIC did not move forward to even take a noticeToday we do not see major job which is done by OIC
