As retailers evolve toward a Commerce Anywhere environment, which
supports consumers shopping and purchasing where and when they want,
much of their success will depend on how effectively they use big-data and
analytics. Effectively analyzing how consumers exploit the benefits of
Commerce Anywhere is critical to enabling the retail enterprise to deliver
on its brand promise. Oracle Retail Merchandising Analytics was
designed with this in mind.
Part of the Oracle Retail Analytics product family, Oracle Retail
Merchandising Analytics is a powerful, mobile-enabled retail BI
application that provides insights into a retailer’s merchandising
performance, helping retailers better understand their business, make
more informed decisions, and execute with the confidence that they are
positively impacting the top and bottom lines.
Product Overview
Oracle Retail Merchandising Analytics provides retailers with an industry-specific
solution for enabling insight into merchandising operations. Merchandising
Analytics helps retailers optimize merchandise and assortment performance,
effectively track new product performance, and optimize inventory, markdowns,
and promotions. It ensures that every decision is based on an informed analysis of
store and product performance.
Oracle Retail Merchandising Analytics is the successor to Oracle’s Retail Data
Warehouse (RDW), and encompasses core retail subject areas including sales,
inventory, customer order demand/fulfillment, supplier, planning, markdowns, and
wholesale/franchise, and includes extensive aggregations and packaged data
integration with Oracle’s Merchandising applications. A license migration
program is available to retailers with RDW licenses. Oracle Retail Merchandising
Analytics leverages the power of Oracle technology, from storage-to-scorecard,
lowering total cost of ownership and simplifying support.

About Oracle Retail Analytics
The Oracle Retail Analytics product suite consists of Oracle Retail Merchandising
Analytics and Oracle Retail Customer Analytics, with modules for other retail
domains planned for the future. Oracle Retail Analytics employs Oracle’s Fusion-
standard BI/DW technology, including Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle Data
Integrator, Oracle Database, and optionally Oracle Exadata and Exalytics. Oracle
Retail Analytics subscribes to Oracle’s Common Enterprise Information Model,
aligning with Oracle BI Applications which enables cross-domain, Retail + ERP +
CRM analytics but packaged modularly. This modularity supports flexible
deployments of one or a small set of conformed data marts up to and including a
full set comprising a retailer’s strategic Enterprise Data Warehouse. Regardless of
deployment breadth, Oracle Retail Analytics is designed from the ground-up to
scale to the highest levels of data and user volumes that today’s retailers demand.
Pervasive consumption of Oracle Retail Analytics’ BI content is possible with
Oracle BI, including vehicles such as mobile devices, text message alerts, MS
Office, web portals, and more. By leveraging Oracle BI’s web services, URL-
based calls from Oracle Retail Analytics to applications such as Oracle Retail
Merchandising System (RMS) can be made in-context – for example, passing item
info as parameters to open an item-specific RMS form. Further, in-context actions
can be launched directly from an Oracle Retail Analytics dashboard in true
“closed-loop analytics” form, optimizing the process of turning analytics into
actions.
