Modification in the Banking Process for FCPA Compliance and Intermediary Banking
Session ID CON6590
Products and Services APPLICATIONS: JD Edwards
Solutions Governance, Risk, and Compliance, Financials
Date TBD
Time TBD
Location TBD
Speakers Swarup Banerjee, Manager, Deloitte Consulting LLP
Session description International funds transfer is common among global companies. Payments need to be in accordance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) in the US and with other relevant legislation. This requires effective control of the full route of the funds transfer: the originating bank, intermediary banks, the vendor/payee, its banks, associated countries, and so on. Standard JD Edwards applications from Oracle do not offer a complete solution for these. Automatic payment processing was enhanced in the Fortune 50 firm profiled in this session to meet these requirements. Significant validations were instituted for control, and master data for banking information was modified to include controls and validations on intermediary banks, restricted countries, and other field-level data.
