Students will no longer be receiving weekly worksheets which in the past have been easily misplaced and lost. Addition- ally, when students were previously absent, parents had to request for a worksheet to be issued for the missed lesson. However, with our new workbook structure in Term 3, this will save parents time and effort. By providing the new workbooks, NQT has taken the opportunity to replace all of its old worksheet content with revised and accurate learning materials in a new workbook design and structure. The new workbooks will feature an assessment tracking page where parents can quickly review student homework results, homework submission and other information at home. In addition to this, we have re-designed all our essay and writing tasks with improved marking and feedback sheets for parents and students. New Classroom Teaching Structure In Term 3, students will complete more in-class explanations and corrections with the guid- ance of their tutors. Tutors will spend more concentrated time explaining theory and con- cepts to students and helping students review their mistakes and errors. We have found that our students have learnt more effectively in the class if they are engaged with their own cor- rections and more in-depth explanations from their tutors. With this new classroom teaching structure and our new workbooks, we are aiming to help our students to track their own learning progress throughout the term. Additionally, parents and tutors will now be able to more accurately track progress and monitor the performance of each student weekly after their classes. Changes to our Fees Policy: • As from Term 1, 2011, NQT will not be providing refunds on fees already paid. Once a parent or student commits to the terms and conditions of enrolment a refund can not be provided. • Daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly cash or cheque payments will no longer be accepted by NQT. If there is financial difficulty, NQT will allow parents and students to pay fees via an auto- matic direct debit or credit card arrangement daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly. • Students who lose their new workbooks in Term 3 will be asked to replace it for a cost of $30.00 • Parents and students who have been invoiced and have not paid their fees for Term 3 on time will be charged a late fee of $5.00. • Parents and students who wish to upgrade or downgrade from standard to scholarship/selective classes or vice versa can now only do so in the first four weeks of Term 3. • To downgrade from a scholarship/selective class to a standard class, students will not be issued with a refund for any fee differences but will be provided with an additional standard class workbook for free. Students can keep their scholarship/selective workbook also at no charge. • To upgrade from a standard class to a scholarship/selective class, parents or students will need to pay a flat rate of $60 to upgrade to the scholarship/selective class and receive a new workbook for the scholarship/selective class. Free Weekly Homework Help Club – Footscray and Springvale: To assist NQT students during the week with their NQT or school homework, NQT has set up free Homework Help Clubs at NQT Springvale and Footscray during weeknights. NQT students from Years Prep to Year 8 can drop into NQT Springvale or NQT Footscray for extra help with their NQT work, school work or even to do extra study on their own after school! There will be tutors available to help students with their specific questions. The NQT Footscray Homework Help Club is open every Wednesday at NQT Footscray from 5.30pm to 7.30pm – 123 Paisley Street, Footscray. The NQT Springvale Homework Help Club is open every Thursday at NQT Springvale from 5.30pm to 7.30pm – 792 Heatherton Road, Springvale South. Parents should note that the Homework Help Club is not a free NQT lesson. Parents or students should not expect a lesson or new work to be made available to them. The Homework Help Club is available purely to help NQT students with existing school or NQT work. Additionally, the classes are for current NQT students only. Kính thưa Quý Phụ huynh và các Học viên thân mến: Chúng tôi viết thư này nhằm thông báo đến Quý Phụ huynh và Học viên về một số thay đổi quan trọng sắp tới của NQT và muốn đảm bảo rằng những thông tin trong thư này sẽ giúp Quý Phụ huynh và Học viên chuẩn bị cho một khởi đầu suôn sẻ cho Học kỳ 3. Vui lòng đọc thật kỹ những thông tin này vì chúng sẽ giúp Quý Phụ huynh và Học viên giải đáp những nghi vấn có thể có về những thay đổi của NQT, chẳng hạn như thay đổi về quyển bài tập mới, chính sách lệ phí cho học viên đã ôn thi, cơ cấu giảng dạy trên lớp mới và các dịch vụ học tập miễn phí dành cho học viên của NQT. Và vì sự tiện lợi cho Quý Phụ huynh, chúng tôi gởi kèm theo đây hóa đơn học phí của con bạn trong Học kỳ 3, năm 2011. Hóa đơn này không bao gồm học phí chưa thanh toán trong Học kỳ 1 và 2. Vui lòng bảo đảm rằng Quý Phụ huynh sẽ đóng học phí đúng hạn vì việc không đóng học phí bây giờ có thể làm ảnh hưởng đến sự sắp xếp lớp học tại NQT cho con của Quý Phụ huynh trong Học kỳ 3.
Sách bài tập mới dành cho Học viên trong học kỳ 3:Từ Học kỳ 3, toàn bộ học viên của NQT sẽ nhận một quyển bài tập mới và xấp tài liệu mà trong đó sẽ cung cấp đủ tài liệu học tập của học viên trong suốt học kỳ. Trách nhiệm của học viên là giữ gìn và mỗi tuần mang tập tài liệu và sách bài tập mới này đến lớp. Học viên sẽ không phải nhận các bảng ghi công việc đã làm và đang làm hàng tuần nữa; như vậy sẽ không sợ bảng ghi công việc đã làm và đang làm dễ bị mất và bị bỏ bậy như trước đây. Hơn nữa, trước đây khi học viên nghỉ học, cha mẹ thường hay hỏi bảng ghi công việc đã làm và đang làm để xem về các bài học mà học viên đã bỏ qua khi nghỉ học. Tuy nhiên, với cơ cấu mới của quyển bài tập trong học kỳ 3, phụ huynh sẽ tiết kiệm được nhiều thời gian và công sức. Bằng cách cung cấp quyển bài tập mới, NQT đã có cơ hội thay thế toàn bộ nội dung của bảng ghi công vệc đã làm và đang làm cũ bằng các tài liệu học tập đã được sửa lại và chính xác và chúng được in với một thiết kế và cấu trúc mới. Quyển bài tập mới sẽ đề cao trang theo dõi đánh giá mà nhờ đó Quý phụ huynh có thể nhanh chóng xem kết quả làm bài tập về nhà của học viên, việc nộp bài tập về nhà và các thông tin khác tại nhà. Thêm vào đó, chúng tôi đã tái thiết kế toàn bộ bài tiểu luận và bài làm viết có cả trang nhận xét và phản hồi cho cha mẹ và học viên.
Cơ cấu giảng dạy trên lớp mớiTrong học kỳ 3, học viên sẽ hoàn tất việc giảng giải và chỉnh sửa tại lớp nhiều hơn với sự hướng dẫn của giáo viên trợ giảng. Giáo viên trợ giảng sẽ sử dụng nhiều thời gian tập trung hơn trong việc giải nghĩa lý thuyết và khái niệm cho học viên và giúp học viên ôn lại những lỗi và sai sót. Chúng tôi thấy rằng những học viên của mình đã học hiệu quả hơn trong lớp nếu họ tham gia vào việc tự sửa lỗi và sự giảng giải có chiều sâu hơn của giáo viên trợ giảng. Với cơ cấu giảng dạy trên lớp mới này và với quyển bài tập mới, chúng tôi hướng đến mục tiêu giúp đỡ cho học viên của mình theo được tiến độ học tập của chính họ trong suốt học kỳ. Hơn nữa, bây giờ cha mẹ và giáo viên trợ giảng sẽ có thể theo dõi một cách chính xác tiến độ học tập và kiểm soát việc thực hiện ngoài giờ lên lớp hàng tuần của từng học viên.
Thay đổi về chính sách học phí:• Từ học kỳ 1 năm 2011, NQT sẽ không hoàn trả học phí đã đóng. Một khi cha mẹ hoặc học viên cam kết chấp thuận các điều kiện và điều khoản về học viên được tuyển thì không thể có việc hoàn trả phí. • Hàng ngày, hàng tuần, hai tuần một lần hoặc hàng tháng, việc thanh toán bằng tiền mặt hoặc bằng séc sẽ không được NQT chấp nhận nữa. Nếu có khó khăn về tài chính, NQT sẽ đồng ý cho cha mẹ và học viên đóng tiền thông qua tín dụng trực tiếp tự động hoặc qua sự sắp xếp tín dụng hàng ngày, hàng tuần, hai tuần một lần hoặc hàng tháng. • Học viên nào làm mất quyển bài tập mới trong học kỳ 3 sẽ được cấp cho quyển mới với số tiền là $30. • Quý Phụ huynh và học viên đã nhận hóa đơn và không đóng tiền trong học kỳ 3 đúng hạn sẽ bị phạt đóng thêm tiền chậm trễ là $5.• Quý Phụ huynh và học viên nào muốn nâng cấp hoặc giáng cấp lớp có học bổng/lớp chọn hoặc ngược lại có thể bây giờ chỉ thực hiện trong bốn tuần đầu tiên của học kỳ 3. • Để nâng cấp từ lớp có học bổng/lớp chọn xuống lớp chuẩn, học viên sẽ không được thông báo hoàn phí cho bất kỳ khoảng chênh lệch phí nào nhưng sẽ được cấp miễn phí một quyển bài tập tại lớp chuẩn. Học viên có thể giữ lại quyển bài tập lớp có học bổng/lớp chọn của mình mà không phải trả tiền.• Để nâng cấp từ một lớp chuẩn lên một lớp có học bổng/lớp chọn, Quý Phụ huynh và học viên sẽ cần phải đóng thêm một mức phí cố định là $60 cho việc nâng lên lớp có học bổng/lớp chọn và nhận một quyển bài tập mới của lớp có học bổng/lớp chọn. Câu lạc bộ Hỗ trợ Bài tập về nhà Hàng tuần miễn phí - Footscray and Springvale:
Suốt tuần, để hỗ trợ học viên NQT làm bài tập về nhà của NQT hoặc của trường, NQT đã thành lập các Câu lạc bộ Hỗ trợ Bài tập về nhà tại Springvale and Footscray nhằm giúp học viên làm bài tập của NQT, của trường hoặc thậm chí việc học thêm sau giờ học chính khóa. Ở đó cũng luôn có sẵn các giáo viên trợ giảng để giúp học viên giải quyết các câu hỏi riêng.

Quý Phụ huynh lưu ý rằng Câu lạc bộ Hỗ trợ Bài tập về nhà không phải là một bài học miễn phí của NQT. Quý Phụ huynh và học viên không nên mong đợi một bài học hoặc một bài tập mới nào có sẵn cho họ. 第3學期的書冊更新 :從第3學期開始, 所有NQT學員將領取到更新的書冊和資料, 而內面將提供給學員整個學期足夠的學習課程 . 學生的責任是保管並每週携帶此些新的書冊和資料到學堂上課 . 學員將無須像目前再領取每週工作表 . 如此, 可避免每週工作表遺失的事宜再度發生 . 並且, 前此當學員因私事休假, 家長常詢問關於此每週工作表以便觀看自身子弟因休假而錯過的功課 . 然而, 於第3學期的新書冊和資料, 將為各位家長節約大部分的時間和精力 . 從使提供新的書冊和資料, NQT將有機會全面更新每週工作表的內容並且對書冊內容也修改更新和增加其準確性並設計新風格面貌印刷 . 新書冊和資料將針對評估和追蹤方面讓各位家長可迅速觀察本身子弟關於家庭功課及各其他通訊的學習成績 . 加以, 我們也再次設計所有的短評和練習題材並附加評議頁面和家長及學員回饋專欄 .
新班講課結構 :從第3學期開始, 學員將在學堂上完成其身的講解及修正事宜多於助教的指引和輔導 . 助教將使用更多的時間給學員集中於理論及概念的講解以便協助學員復習一些錯誤和修正 . 我們認為本中心學員在學堂上的學習成績顯著更佳效果當其親身參與更多的自身講解及修正事宜相比於助教更顯有深度 . 於以上新班的講課結構和加上新的書冊和資料, 我們向往協助為目標以便讓本中心學員在整个學期內能跟上自身的學習進度 . 并且, 家長和助教將可更為正確的追蹤每一學員的學習進度和檢查每週課外的事宜的實現 .
