DOWNLOADING THE “GOLD BOOK”

1. New users will need to create a new individual account on NCAP. If you already have an account,

you will need to login in with your username and password.

2. Hover over the NBME Learning tab and click Find Lessons OR Click Find Lessons under the Quick

Links on the right.

OR

3. Scroll through lessons and choose “Constructing Written Test Questions for the Basic and Clinical

Sciences.” Click Register once the lesson has been selected.

4. Click Register again.

5. Select “Pay by Credit Card” and click Continue.

6. Accept the Terms and Conditions and click Continue.

7. Fill out registration information. Click Continue.

8. Please note: This is a free resource, so there is not actually a charge. The text fields are greyed out –

no credit card information needs to be entered. Click Submit.

9. Click Continue.

10. Click Continue.

11. Click on the PDF link.

12. A new window will pop up while the PDF is downloading. Wait until the file is completely

downloaded and then click on the popup.

13. The PDF will open in a new tab. Click on the arrow to download the file to your computer.
