Mogra Star Academy Mogra Star Academy is a free community school located in Mathare Slums Nairobi. It offers free primary and secondary school education to the underprivileged children. It was founded in 1998 by Mrs. Hannah Njoroge, and currently has an enrolment of well over 1050 students. The school relies entirely on donations from well-wishers to fund its programs.

We excel both in Academics activities up to national levels

and extra curricula

For many children, the school meals is the only meal for the day hence If they are not given food in school, they run away from school and some turn to scavenging in the slum, engage in petty crime or child labor.

Many of the children must be provided with everything to remain in school

Funding Facts

Airtel is supporting the school feeding program and teachers' salaries through their CSR which is committed for two years.

About half of the school annual budget is unfunded.

Mogra Rescue Centre Mogra Rescue center is a registered charitable children's institution that protects and cares for orphans and vulnerable children within Nairobi and neighboring counties. It was established in 2003 and has a current population of 184 children aged from 0-18 years. Mogra has 3 units; Nursery unit (below 18 months) with 34 children, Toddlers unit (18-4 years) with 37 children, 5-18 years section with 113.

s Admit kids rescued by police, abandoned babies from hospitals and from Children Department. Provides all basic needs including education and healthcare Mentorship and life skills training and solid spiritual growth Scouts for jobs and scholarship for children for self-establishment.

Funding Fact We have no regular donors; most donors are one time donors Few Local donors who mostly donate clothes, foodstuffs, and babies' stuff

Our Recurrent/Urgent Needs Baby's formula milk and disposable diapers, funding for recurring needs; utility bills and staff salaries, personal effects for older children, books and stationeries, medical care,, Scholarships and jobs for those who complete school, volunteers, mentors, professional skills among others.
