Personal Statement

“As an art form jewellery aim to offer the wearer and viewer an object that expresses personal identity.” My jewellery is an artistic expression intended to describe a personal journey. Within my series of jewellery I explore surface qualities and an innovative use of material combinations. I create new forms within jewellery by combining natural materials, such as, fiber and paper with enameling, resin and precious metals. The work explores depth, spaces and optical illusions.

My final aim was to make it difficult for the viewer find jewellery in the image. In this a series of work I painted images on metal piece with traditional methods such as, oil painting and pencil painting. I cut the pictures and realigned them of different angles to make a new vision. I also used different layers to change what the viewer sees. I chose one part of this image to make jewellery. I used the same part to draw on the metal. When I finished the jewellery and image is one single piece. The image included jewellery. The jewellery pieces hadpaper, metal, resin and enameling to finish it. The viewer can remove the jewellery from the image.
