Welcome:

Medicinal plant represents a unique opportunity for interdisciplinary research and we

strongly believe that extensive research through collaboration and cooperation can be

of help for their promotion and development. The complexity of herbal medicine

preparations from medicinal plants and the interpretation of bibliographic data on safety

and efficacy, reflecting the experience gathered during long term use are best

addressed by involving specific expertise and experience. This seminar will focus on

some crucial and contemporary issues on medicinal plant research particularly their

identification, quality evaluation and validation of their ethnopharmacological claims.

The School of Natural Product Studies, Jadavpur University is dedicated to the

promotion of knowledge on natural product and the dissemination of information through

educational programs, research activities and sharing of experiences on the scientific

validation of medicinal plant for betterment of healthcare of the society. This seminar will

provide an ideal platform for interaction and dissemination of knowledge between

scientists and professionals in different areas of medicinal plant research.

An array of scientists, technologists, regulatory authorities and health care professionals

from various parts of India will deliver lectures on several important topics on

opportunities in medicinal plant research. We invite you to join in the program and wish

you all a fruitful and effective scientific interaction during this two days program at our

University.

Indian systems of medicine including Ayurveda, Homeopathy etc.

Development and evaluation of herbal formulations from medicinal plant through industry

institute partnership

Globalization of traditional medicine and medicinal plant – Globalizing local knowledge and

localizing global technology.

IPR, patents and regulatory issues related to medicinal and aromatic plants (MAP)

Resource persons:

Eminent academicians, experts, scientists, researchers from universities, industries and

research organizations will share their research experiences.

Call for Papers:

Research contributions are welcome for oral and poster presentation. All the abstracts should

be submitted by e-mail as attachment at isesnpsju@gmail.com until October 30, 2014. The

abstracts should be written by Microsoft word in “doc” or “docx” format and should not exceed

250 words. The submitting author must be registered for the seminar. The scientific committee

will review the abstracts, and their decision will be communicated to the communicating author

after November 05, 2014. All accepted abstracts will be published in the seminar proceedings.

Registration:

The registration fees include participation in the full scientific programme, conference kit, lunch

for two days and coffee breaks. All the interested persons are requested to apply in the

prescribe format.
