Engagement of all societal actors in R & I Developing scientific literacy, responsibility and

creativity in society through providing: - Appropriate science education methods at school- Basic and life-long training programs for researchers

in ethical, legal and economical concerns related to their own research context

- Regular public exchanges on research and innovation concerns

Gender equality is promoted and integrated in research and innovation content

Publicly-funded research results are freely accessible and available on the Internet for all components of society

Ethics dimension is built in from the inception of process and products

Governance rules are tuned to favor the take-off of the above elements.

A- Collaborative Projects: Collaborative projects are objective

driven research projects aiming at developing new knowledge, new technology, products, and that may include scientific coordination, demonstration activities or sharing of common resources for research in order to improve European competitiveness or to

address major societal needs.

B & C- Coordination/Supporting projects: The two different types of actions to be financed here

are:

Co-ordination (or networking) actions aimed at coordinating research activities and policies.

Support actions aimed at contributing to the implementation of the Framework Programmes and the preparation of future EU research and technological development policy or the development of synergies with other policies, or to stimulate, encourage and facilitate the participation of SMEs, civil society organisations and their networks, or small research teams and newly developed or remote research centres in the activities of the thematic areas of the Cooperation programme. Support actions normally focus on one specific activity and often one specific event.
