knowledgeable about how to use social media. This will not

be a big time commitment!

If you are interested, please contact Laura Wilkinson at

[email protected] or 884-1236.

EG Clergy Plan Anti-Racism Program The community is invited to see the movie "American

Denial" at EGUMC on Sunday, March 19, at 1:00

p.m. The movie will be followed by a time for

dialogue and discussion.

When there is a disconnect between what we've been

led to believe and what is actually true, it makes us

uneasy. American Denial tells a compelling story about

the history of race in America and the way in which

denial and disconnection have played a key part. In this

way, the movie fills in one piece of the complex puzzle

that has created our current reality.

Please join us for the film and post-film discussion as

we continue our individual and collective journeys

toward eliminating racism and its devastating effects

from ourselves and our society.

Saturday, April 29, 2017 The Fellowship Committee invites you to a Modified

Progressive Dinner. The main meal will take place in the

homes of various hosts, then we will all gather at the church

for desserts donated by the participants. In several weeks,

there will be sign-up sheets for those who are interested in

hosting and for those who will be guests. Hosts will decide if

they want to cook the entire meal or if they would like their

guests to contribute to the meal. Participants of past

progressive dinners have had great things to say about the

event. This is a good way to enjoy a meal with current and

new friends. So check your calendars, and make plans to join

us for a fun evening. Look for more details to come.

To the MYF members and the EG Methodist Church

congregation,

The East Greenwich Interfaith Food Cupboard is very

grateful for your recent check totaling $376 from the Souper

Bowl of Caring collection in January. Thank you so much for

this donation.

As you are aware, the Food Cupboard is located in the center

of East Greenwich at St. Luke's Church. Members of our

community who are in need can come in and choose from a

wide assortment of food items. We have a commercial cooler

as well as two freezers so we are also able to offer meat, dairy

products and produce to our clients. Our goal is to always

have our shelves stocked with a variety of tasty and nutritious

items from which they may choose. Your check enables us to

purchase food through the Rhode Island Food Bank as well as

at local stores.

For many people the ability to put food on the table is a daily

struggle. This need for food assistance increases every year

and we are very appreciative of your support as we help the

hungry in our community. Thank you again for your

generosity. Chris and Steve Bartlett, Co-Directors

East Greenwich Interfaith Food Cupboard

RI Civic Chorale and Orchestra Elaine Trench and Al Meyer are participating with the RI

Civic Chorale and Orchestra in a gala concert at the

Cathedral in Providence on Saturday, March 25th. The

concert features soloists who have won the annual

Collegiate Vocal Competition; 4 great young people who

have devoted themselves to serious vocal studies. Music

by Mozart, Haydn and Roger Cichy, Emmy Award

winning composer and professor at Providence College

will be featured. The just commissioned Cichy work is

based upon the Langston Hughes poem, "I Dream a

World." Reception with food and drink to follow. Al and

Elaine have discount tickets at $20 each vs. $30 at the

door. Students always $10. Call 401-336-3745 for

information.
