The future: Horizon Europe (2021 – 2027)

Overview funding Brazilian participants (individual researchers and/or institutions) can join projects in any area
Individual Brazilian researchers are always eligible for EU funding under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions – Individual Fellowships and under the European Research Council programme.
For collaborative actions, Horizon 2020 does not automatically fund Brazilian participants (with some exceptions i.e. All Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance Flagship )
Brazilian participants have to determine themselves the sources of funding for their part of the project
Different funding schemes for allowing Brazilian researchers to take part into Horizon 2020 are set up in different Brazilian states through the existing Research Foundations (detailed list in annex)
Contributions can also be made in kind

Capacity-building = support the modernisation, accessibility and internationalisation of higher education in Partner Countries. Partners from Chile, Colombia, Brazil and Panama For the past several years the Innovation Office (AFO) of the University of Münster has been actively involved in numerous European and international projects in the area of science and research transfer. The AFO has particularly focused on initiating collaborations with the countries of Latin America. The goal of the LASIN project is to develop new cooperation models between universities and science institutes on one hand and socio-economic participants in Latin America on the other, while also supporting and expanding efficient network-building measures.

The LASIN consortium selects numerous existing projects which promote social innovation, and then accompanies and evaluates their implementation over a three-year funding period.
