1 Description
The waxing gun ECCO 570 R is intended for anti-corrosive treatment inside cavitiesof car bodies and has been developed to be used with water based wax.
To prevent irreversible wear to the parts of the gun, the use of corrosive or abrasivematerials should be avoided.
The release mechanism of the quick coupling is designed for one hand operation, without changing grip.

4.1 Security
WARNING
The high velocity flow of material through hoses and nozzles may developstatic electricity. Be sure that the equipment, object being waxed, isproperly grounded to prevent static discharge or sparks. Check theelectrical resistance of the high pressure wax. The operator is normally con-nected to earth through the waxing gun.
WARNING
As the equipment works under very high pressure the utmost care must beobserved during the work. Bearing this in mind, never aim the spray gun at aperson or towards any part of the body (see Figure 2.1). In the event ofpersonal injury caused by the spraying pressure, immediate medical attentionis essential. Before carrying out any adjustment or repair, the equipmentmust be switched off and the wax pressure relieved. The operator must useear- and eye protection (see fig 2.2) and suitable clothing.
If the gun does not work satisfactorily it must on no account be used. Repairor replace it immediately.

WARNING
Be very careful when removing filter nut, valve nut or hose from the gun.The pump must be switched off and wax pressure relieved.
A plugged high pressure hose contains fluid under high pressure. Loosenretaining nut or hose coupling slightly and release pressure slowly beforeremoving it completely.
WARNING
Do not use halogenated hydrocarbons in coating application equipmentwhere aluminium or galvanized parts come in contact with the solvent orcoating material. Halogenated hydrocarbons e.g. 1,1,1-thrichloroethane andmethylene chloride react, violently with such parts, causing corrosion anddanger for explosion.
WARNING
Inhalation of wax, dust and solvent is not healthy. Make sure an approvedspraybooth is used. The operator must use personal protection-breathingmask or fresh air hood.

4.2 Preventive maintenance
4.2.1 Filter check / cleaning / exchange
Important! Before checking, cleaning or changing filter, make sure that wax pressure is relieved.
1. Check filter:Use an 8 millimetre hex key to loosen the filter nut, then pull out the nut and filter, seefigure 3. Check the strainer, it shall be free from particles and whole. If necessaryclean the filter, see next item. Check the condition of the o-ring, it must be free fromany damage or wear. If not, change o-ring before reinstalling the filter. To avoidexcessive wear of the o-ring put some silicon free grease on it before assembling.
2. Cleaning filter:Disassemble the filter, see previous item. Use a brush and solvent to clean the filterand use compressed air to dry it clean. Check the o-ring like in previous item, beforere-assembling
3. Changing filter:Disassemble the filter, see check filter. Replace the old filter by pulling it out from thefilter nut, take a new filter and push it into the filter nut. Check the o-ring like in theprevious item, before re-assembling.

4.2.2 Cleaning / Lubrication
1. Coder:Clean the coder with a dry and clean rag, check the nipple, it shall not be worn ordamaged and must be free from burrs. If necessary replace the nipple for a new one.
2. Quick coupling:
Use a brush moistened with solvent to clean the quick coupling. Blow it dry withcompressed air. Check the quick coupling visually, if it is worn or damaged replace itfor a new one, see chapter 4.3.2, lubricate front part and locking sleeve withlubrication oil, see figure 4.
3. Hose:
Clean the hose with a moistened rag, use naphtha or similar do not use strongersolvent like xylen which can damage the rubber of the hose.

4. Quick coupling release mechanism:
Use a brush moistened with solvent to clean the release mechanism, do not usemore solvent then necessary. Dry the parts with a dry rag and compressed airlubricate all moving parts with grease which has a high quality. Do not use lubricantswhich contains silicon. Lubrication points marked in figure 5.
5. Gun overall:
When cleaning the gun use a rag moistened with solvent, finally clean the gun with adry and clean rag.

4.3 Curative maintenance
4.3.1 Wax leakageQuick coupling:If there is leakage between the gun and the quick coupling, make sure that the threadof the quick coupling has been applied with glue, loctite 242 or similar.
If wax leak between quick coupling and the nipple, the quick coupling probably needsto be replaced, see next item.
4.3.2 Replacing quick coupling
Disassembling:Disassemble the lever (marked 4) in figure 6 by: unscrewing screw (number 2) at thesame time hold the support (number 3) still with a 5mm wrench. When disassemblingthe 2 screws marked number 6, take care of the 2 distances (marked 5).Pull back the lever rod as far as possible and unscrew the quick coupling (marked1)with a 20mm wrench.
Assembling:Apply glue, loctite 242 or similar, on the thread of the quick coupling beforeassembling. Make sure the distances (5) are inserted in the lever and lubricatedbefore assembling the screw (6). Put a little glue, loctite 242 or weaker, on screwnumber 2 and tighten gently with a hex key. Let the glue dry completely before usingthe gun.

4.3.3 Material valveIf wax leak through the evacuation hole marked 7 in figure 7, material valve or pistonis leaking and need new o-rings, see next item.
4.3.4 Replacing o-rings
Disassemble the quick coupling (see chapter 4.3.2) Disconnect the 7 wires of the coderboard (marked 1 in figure 7) from the
connector inside the handle Unscrew the 2 screws (marked 2 in figure 7), pull the decoder housing (3) gently
and make sure the wires from the coderboard follows at the same time Unscrew the valve nut (4) with the valve nut tool and pull out the injector (5) and
the pre orifice (6) Blow gently with compressed air into the evacuation hole (7) , and at the same
time hold one hand in front of the gun and catch the material valve as it comesout
Replace the 2 o-rings (8) on the material valve (9) and the one on the piston (10) To avoid excessive wear, put grease on the o-rings before assembling Assemble all parts in conversed order

4.3.5 Troubleshooting
Cycle will not start: Check that the waxing tool is inserted properly in the quick coupling Check the connection to the cabinet
If the trouble remains: Check that the sensor is working Check the gap (marked x in fig. 8) between the sensor and the spring support The gap must be less than 0,5 mm but more than 0,1 mm, if it needs adjustment
loosen adjust-screw marked 1 (see fig. 8), adjust the gap and tighten the screw.Press the trigger! If it is correct adjusted it shall now be connection between pole1 and 2 on the connector marked 2 in fig. 8, check connection with a measuringinstrument.
If gap is correct but still no connection when trigger is pushed, sensor needs to bereplaced
Replace the sensor by unscrewing the adjust-screw, take a small screwdriver andpush in the release device (marked 3 in fig. 8) on the connector and gently pullout one wire at the time. Assemble the new sensor and connect to the right poleson the connector (se wiring diagram chapter 5 )
If the trouble still remain: Check the cable to the cabinet so that there are no broken wires, use a
measuring instrument
