The Opera TV Store is based on the Opera Devices SDK.

TV appsTV apps are web-based apps that are optimized for TV by adjusting to different screen sizes and resolutions, as well as ensuring that the correct font size is always used for optimal reading comfort. TV apps are typically video rich and are designed to give the user a comfortable “lean-back” experience, without complex interactions requiring typing or searching. These apps are promoted in the Opera TV Store, and the user can add them to “My Apps”.

Opera TV Snap enables content providers to package online video channels into ready-to-run HTML5 apps for the Opera TV Store app storefront. It is a comprehensive app generator, with tools to help create and submit your online video content for easy dis-tribution via the Opera TV Store in the form of a Smart TV app. Content providers are also able to monetize their content through pre-roll advertisements, which can be served in the app.

Developer portalDevelopers of TV apps receive access to the TV developer portal, where they will find all TV app development resources, including guidelines for how to develop and optimize content for TVs, as well as access to the Opera TV Emulator.

The Opera TV Emulator simulates the environment of the OEM’s television, including the RAM limitations, making it possible for developers to create and test content for TVs without access to a physical TV.
