I’d also like to acknowledge Shireen Gilmore, who was relentless in ensuring that costs were well managed.Thank you everyone. Opera House Speaking of wonderful aspects to our school, and our music program, this week 30 students will be performing at the Opera House as part of a mass choir of 700 public primary school voices. Liz Scott’s work here, in preparing these students has been outstanding. The choir is absolutely remarkable; thanks Liz. I am sure the Opera House experience will be stunning! NAPLAN 2013 NAPLAN student reports have now been delivered to the school and these will be distributed to students in years 3 & 5 this week, to take home. If you wish to discuss the results please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher. Regards Graeme Ross, Principal

Lock Down Drill

The Lock Down practice was held last week as part of the school's Work, Health and Safety protocols. All our students have been made aware of why this may be necessary and what they should do in the event the alarm is sounded. Staff will review these procedures and make any changes that may be needed to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students and staff. Elizabeth Mulligan

Girls Touch Footy Round 7 Last Friday, October 11, eleven Stage 3 girls went to Connell Park to play against Yamba in Round 7 of the PSSA Touch Football Knockout. Although they were beaten by a more experienced side, the girls played outstandingly and displayed great sportsmandship throughout the game. Thank you to the parents who helped and supported us on the day. Congratulations and a big thankyou to the girls for their enthusiasm, commitment & congratulations in making it to round 7 – the highest standard (Round 7) achieved by a school team.

Canteen News

In the canteen we realise that we should all be doing our bit to reduce “green house gas” emission. The most prevalent GHGs are of course carbon dioxide and methane. In wishing to do our bit we found that the canteen we can do something about one of these. To this end the canteen will not make cheddies with baked beans as often any more. The special this week will be pies. Not the usual meat pies, which will still be available, but a selection of different flavoured pies. I am still negotiating with our supplier to secure the variety of flavours but shepherd’s pie will be amongst them. Watch the specials board outside the canteen to see the list of pies and fillings available when they have been confirmed. The special, as usual will be on Thursday and Friday for $3.50 or $5.00 with a drink. Eddy Vardabasso, Canteen Supervisor
