Welcome to this guide for the openSAP course Developing Mobile Apps with SAP HANA Cloud. It

shows you how to set up SAP Trial Accounts for new users. For existing users, simply log on to

the SAP HANA Cloud Platform cockpit and enable the services and subscriptions in these

instructions.

SIGNING UP FOR AN SAP HANA CLOUD PLATFORM TRIAL ACCOUNT

Let’s start by signing up for the SAP HANA Cloud Platform trial account. Simply follow the instructions and screenshots to complete the registration process. 1. Log on to http://hcp.sap.com and click the Launch HCP button.

2. Click Register Now to fill out the registration form.

3. Fill out the registration form and click Register.

4. After you have registered, you will receive an e-mail to your e-mail account. Activate your account for SAP HANA Cloud Platform from this email.

5. Once you have activated your account, you’ll receive a confirmation e-mail.

Enable SAP HANA Cloud Platform Mobile Services (HCPms) In this section, you will enable SAP HANA Cloud Platform mobile services (HCPms). SAP HANA Cloud Platform mobile services is an open, standards-based cloud platform that enables simplified mobile application development, configuration, and management. SAP Hana Cloud Platform UI has been updated since writing of this document. While we will modify instructions as needed, we will not update all of the screenshots. If you have questions about any steps or screens, please check other student’s posts prior to posting an issue in the openSAP discussion forum for this class. Thank you. Below is the new HCP Cockpit with new theme and introduction of the stack menu.

Let’s configure SAP HANA Cloud Platform mobile services (HCPms). Follow the instructions and screenshots to complete the registration process. 1. Log on to the SAP HANA Cloud Platform cockpit and click Services. Next, click the SAP HANA Cloud

Platform Services (now labeled Mobile Services).

2. On the SAP HANA Cloud Platform Mobile Services page, click Enable.

3. You should now see that HCPms is enabled.

4. In the SAP HANA Cloud Platform cockpit menu, click Subscriptions and then New Subscription.

5. Select the sapmobile provider account and click Save. This screen has been changed – You will click drop-down for Provider Account, Application and click Save.

6. Now that you have added the subscription, click the application name to configure the Admin role.

7. On the HCPms Admin page, go to the menu and click Roles, then click Assign. Select the Administrator role and then click Assign and enter your SAP Trial Account ID (per next step).

8. Enter your SAP Trial Account ID and click Assign.

9. You have now successfully assigned the role.

10. In the SAP HANA Cloud Platform cockpit menu, click Destinations and then New Destination.

Add the new destination – HMAdminHandlers. Use the same values as below, and for the URL use your trial user ID:

Add the new destination – HMAdminJaxrs. Use the same values as below, and for the URL use your trial user ID:

11. Now let’s finish this last step by assigning the Administrator role to our trial user ID. To get to this screen, go to main HCP Cockpit page and select Services on the left hand side of the page. Select the Mobile Services tile. Select the Configure Mobile Services link. Under New Role, click Administrator and then click Assign.

12. Enter your SAP Trial Account ID and click Assign.

You have now successfully added the role.

13. From the SAP HANA Cloud Platform cockpit, click Services and go to the Mobile Services page.

14. Click “Go to Service” to open the HCPms cockpit.

15. You may be asked to log on to SAP HANA Cloud. If so, simply enter your e-mail or trial user ID and password and click Continue.

16. Once you have logged on, you will see a “what’s new” alert, simply click OK and proceed to the cockpit.

You have now successfully configured HCPms!

Enable the SAP HANA Cloud Portal Service In this section, you will enable the SAP HANA Cloud Portal service. SAP HANA Cloud Portal, a service on SAP HANA Cloud Platform, is ideal for fast site creation without coding. Designed primarily for mobile consumption, SAP HANA Cloud Portal provides easy branding, role-based user authorization, and multi-lingual support. Let’s configure the SAP HANA Cloud Portal service. Simply follow the instructions and screenshots to complete the registration process. 1. Log on to the SAP HANA Cloud Platform cockpit and click Services. Next, find the SAP HANA Cloud

Portal tile and click it.

2. On the SAP HANA Cloud Portal page, click Enable.

3. You should now see that the SAP HANA Cloud Portal service is enabled.

4. In the SAP HANA Cloud Portal cockpit menu, click Subscriptions and then New Subscription.

5. Select the trial provider account (flpportal application) and click Save,

6. Note that your flpportal application is successfully added to your subscriptions.

7. From the SAP HANA Cloud Platform cockpit menu, click Services and then SAP HANA Cloud Portal.

8. Click Configure SAP HANA Cloud Portal.

9. Click Roles and then New Role.

10. Assign the TENANT_ADMIN role and click Save.

11. To assign your trial ID to this role, click Assign.

12. Enter your trial account user ID and click Assign.

13. You have now successfully added this role and assigned your trial ID to the role.

14. From the SAP HANA Cloud Platform cockpit menu, click Services and then SAP HANA Cloud Portal.

15. Click Go to Service.

16. Congratulations, you’ve successfully logged on to SAP HANA Cloud Portal. You may only see the + tile (since no site or Fiori Launchpad has been added yet). We will add the Firoi Launchpad later in the course.

How to launch the SAP Fiori Launchpad In this section you will learn how to launch the SAP Fiori launchpad 1. In the SAP HANA Cloud Platform cockpit menu, click Subscription and then the flpportal application link.

2. Click the application URL link.

3. Congratulations, you have successfully launched the SAP Fiori launchpad. While the screen below shows a sample group, you’ll only see a blue screen. We will add group(s) later in the course.

You’ve now successfully configured SAP HANA Cloud Portal.

Enable SAP Web IDE In this section, you will enable SAP Web IDE. This will enable you to develop apps in the cloud. 1. In the SAP HANA Cloud Platform cockpit menu, click Subscriptions. Under Subscribed HTML 5 Applications, click New Subscription.

2. Click sapwebide (optionally, rename this webide, if you like…) and click Save.

3. Now let’s find the SAP Web IDE application URL… Click the application link “webide”.

4. Launch SAP Web IDE by clicking the application URL.

5. If you are already logged on to the SAP HANA Cloud Platform cockpit, it should sign you in to SAP Web IDE.

Congratulations, you have successfully configured all the components required for setting up SAP HANA Cloud Platform for this openSAP course.

SAP MOBILE SECURE TRIAL ACCOUNT SETUP

This section will show you how you can sign up for a free 30-day trial account for SAP Mobile Secure. Please note: You should wait until week 5 to sign up for this account as it’s only 30-day trial. Only those users with business e-mail addresses can sign up at this time. All SAP Employees e-mail addresses (i.e. @sap.com) are black-listed, please get in touch with us – e.g via the openSAP forum to obtain a trial account. Also black-listed are non-business users using personal e-mail address (e.g. @gmail.com). We are actively working to provide access to your own trial account. We will post updates to the openSAP forum. Thanks for your patience.

1. Enter https://portal.mobilesecure.com in your browser.

2. Enter the details for Account, Username, and Password, and click Login.

3. You are successfully logged into SAP Mobile Secure.
