Quick Overview
• Economy
• Economy developing well with employment levels back to pre recession and GVA in the LEP has increased by over £2.2bn between 2009 and 2013 (£16.5bn to £18.7bn)
• But Skills, Infrastructure, and business productivity challenges remain
• Our Focus is on Core City, Connected County, Competitive Urban Centres, Sector Growth, Skilled Workforce
• We work with other LEPs and partners to secure the best outcomes for our communities

• Issues
• Nearly 3,400 homes per annum need to be built to meet existing commitments
• Economic Impact
• Lack of local affordable housing limits business growth
• Every £1 spent on construction generates a further £2.09 on economic activity, higher than the return to most other sectors including advanced manufacturing and finance;
• 50,000 new homes create 75,000 new jobs;
