Introduction to International Citizen Service
What is ICS?
• ICS is a UK government-funded development programme that brings together 18 to 25-year-olds from all backgrounds to fight poverty in overseas and UK communities. You don’t need cash, skills
or qualifications to take part in ICS – just the ambition to make a difference.
• Because DFID believes in young people
Who’s involved?
• ICS Entrepreneur will tackle poverty in some of the world’s poorest communities by supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses in developing countries.

What kind of skills do you need to take part in ICS Entrepreneur?
•Management•Accountancy and finance•Marketing and sales•Business planning•Project management in business
• Flights and visas• Medication and vaccines• Travel and medical insurance• Food and accommodation• Training, support and guidance at every stage
What's included?
• Volunteers do not need specific skills or experience to be selected for ICS but we do need to see a positive commitment to the programme and an enthusiastic, flexible attitude.
• All potential ICS volunteers must attend a selection day where they’ll be expected to show their suitability for the programme and ability to work with others.
